Illumination ( Penton Legacy 5) by Susannah Sandlin

Hello to all!!!

A detail though....the ebook release tomorrow on amazon so you can  still preorder or order it BUT the paperback is already available which is the reason i'm sharing my opinion today and not tomorrow ( couldn't wait any longer).
I love when authors keep their promise against every ordeal and that's what Susannah/ Suzanne did she promised us a conclusion for us the fans of Penton and she did! Not only she did it but she did it wonderfully ( full book of quality, ebook AND paperback for us  print lovers who love books matching in our shelves.)

Really even if it was only the reason just buy this book to support such a good author but then like i said and like you will see in my review this is really a book worth buying and if you are being in the series just get it ( and the precedents books are available cheaper this month as well so grab them before setting in a Penton reading marathon) so please makes this author happy it will means more good books for us later!!so preorder, order just BUY this book!

Description from goodreads :

He came to Penton seeking peace. Nik Dimitrou joined the Army to escape his family legacy, only to have his psychic abilities exploited as a weapon. Now, as a civilian, he turns to the bottle to veil the images that haunt his mind whenever he touches anyone—except vampires. With them, he has finally found a place. But as Penton moves into open warfare with the Vampire Tribunal, Nik finds himself a linchpin in the deepening conflict, not to mention a transformation in his own body more frightening than anything he’s faced.

She wanted to change the world. Shay Underwood watched her Peace Corps parents move from one third world country to another—until both died following an outbreak of fever. Driven to her own career in tropical medicine, Shay works to cure the disease that killed her parents—until a careless weekend outing draws her into a world far more dangerous than the diseases she studies: a vampire society engaged in human trafficking.

Two cities, two strangers, one world. With Penton rebellion leader Aidan Murphy making risky choices and chief vampire lieutenant Mirren Kincaid forced to take a leadership role for which he is unsuited, it will fall to two outsiders, Nik and Shay, to find a way for Penton—and themselves—to survive in this much-anticipated conclusion to the award-winning Penton Legacy series

My opinion:
Great!!!!! really the wait was worth it because this book answer all our questions....it takes place a few weeks after the events in book 4 "Allegiance" and we are immediately feeling for our dear vampires because they sure needs helps....Aidan is a shade of himself, Penton is tired but not giving up .... in fact no one is left unscathed in a way or another so we needed to know what would happen and we do follow all of them.

However to fully enjoy this, it's better to have read the precedents books, yes  the author does remind us of event, does a little recap but it's a series that keeps getting better as it gets deeper into the plot so i can't recommend you enough to start by book 1 and read them back to back..

Because of the situation our vampires are in this book is quite dark and it does have some very dark elements, the tension is high ( with what is at stake  it's a minimum) so i kept turning the page wanting to know more but thankfully, as the author is so talented to do, we have touch of humour very well placed to give us a little emotional reprieve between the twists and jump into the darkness. We see the evolution of all the characters we have come to love and some appears under a new light too....like our dear Mirren the leader ( againsit his will mostly but then it's his nature); Will still the strategist and of course Nik....our dear Nik has to face a lot once again but his heart never waver. Shay is the new character of this book and she is wonderful, talented, determined and courageous....the romance is well written and make sense perfectly timed and slowly building so we have our sweet moments among a lot of angsty ones...we just can't stop reading until the last page!

Really it's the perfect conclusion for the Penton series and even better it offers us hope and possibilities for spin off in the future so would couldn't have wished for a better one. I recommend it without hesitation!

Description from goodreads :

The bones said death was comin’, and the bones never lied.

While on an early morning patrol in the swamps of Whiskey Bayou, Louisiana wildlife agent Gentry Broussard spots a man leaving the home of voodoo priestess Eva Savoie—a man who bears a startling resemblance to his brother, whom Gentry thought he had killed during a drug raid three years earlier. Shaken, the agent enters Eva’s cabin and makes a bloody discovery: the old woman has been brutally murdered.

With no jurisdiction over the case, he’s forced to leave the investigation to the local sheriff, until Eva’s beautiful heir, Celestine, receives a series of gruesome threats. As Gentry’s involvement deepens and more victims turn up, can he untangle the secrets behind Eva’s murder and protect Celestine from the same fate? Or will an old family curse finally have its way?

From award-winning author Susannah Sandlin comes the first book in the Wilds of the Bayou series.

My opinion:
Suzanne/ Susannah never disappointed me so far so when she decided to start writing in the romance suspense genre i was happy ( more than that) to follow her and give it a try. I'm honoured to have gotten the opportunity to read an advance copy and i really don't regret it, it's FABULOUS!!

This story once it has caught your full attention  won't let you stop until you turn the last page, the tension is simply constant  and the intrigue is distilled gradually with a master hand.  You want to know the culprit and even when you know who, you want the why , how and simply you want to follow the characters on their journey. I loved every moment of this book  really if you love romance suspense this is one you can't miss.

The atmosphere of Louisiana is depicted with justness with the weather but also , the customs, people's way of thinking ; you want to visit to get or live that experience. With a light touch of mysticism, paranormal  because really what would be New Orleans and Louisiana  without that  particular past and blend of beliefs, the author transport us in the swamp to follow Gentry and Celestine, Ceelie,  as their learn more about themselves and the investigation.

I loved how they got attracted to each other but let the time ( and events) built it in something more steps by steps. Ceelie is a lovely woman,  determined for sure but also not realising all her potential. To keep a promise she put her life on a path that wasn't necessarily the one she would have chosen . Now she is confronted to the truth.
Retired from the special force, after an event that quite traumatized him, but not giving up on his want of Justice, Gentry applied  into the LDWF enforcement....which sound even more complicated and demanding than the police is.

The secondary characters are also very well built and you can get attached to them easily like Paul or Jena but the whole bunch of characters is worth discovering. I can’t recommend this book enough really you have it all: the setting, ambiance, suspense, action and romance  all perfectly dosed...a perfect romance suspense!

Score:  5/5

Hello to all,

It focus is on Cage who was still a mystery at the end of Omega but had a lot of fans already^^, even better we get to see some characters from "Storm Force"  which is fabulous and add a lot of humour.

Short description from goodreads :

From award-winning author Susannah Sandlin comes the fourth book in the smart and steamy Penton Legacy series.

British vampire psychiatrist and former mercenary Cage Reynolds returns to Penton, Alabama, looking for a permanent home. The town has been ravaged by the ongoing vampire war and the shortage of untainted human blood, and now the vampires and humans that make up the Omega Force are trying to rebuild. Cage hopes to help the cause, put down roots in Penton, and resolve his relationship with Melissa Calvert. The last thing he expects is an attraction to Robin Ashton, a trash-talking eagle shape-shifter and new Omega recruit.

Meanwhile, as a dangerous saboteur wreaks havoc in Penton, the ruthless Vampire Tribunal leader Matthias Ludlam has been freed on the eve of his scheduled execution. But by whom? And to what end? As war and chaos rage on, love is the last thing Cage is looking for, but will his attraction to Robin distract him from the danger living among them?

My opinion:
You know you are really hooked into a series when the style change (even subtly) and still you can’t stop reading.  Susannah Sandlin ( aka Suzanne Johnson) did surprise me a lot with this fourth instalment and  that’s really a good point. She is still a master at descriptions and her knack to create realistic, tortured heroes hasn’t changed but this book is a lot darker than the precedent. Don’t worry though the romance part is still there and thankfully we have a lot of humour to balance the darkest part. Oh and shifters are included too now ^^.

First, I must say that I was really happy to see Robin and Nik again, after “ Storm Force” I just wanted more of those characters and honestly these two are the ones that fit the most in Penton.  I loved to see the banters between Robin, petit woman but fiery temper, with Mirren, the big bad brooding vampire so massive. The humour there was exceptional and since she can’t keep her mouth shut Robin did made a lot of funny remark and created some interesting relationship.

We learn also a lot more about her past and Nik’s, I was quite surprised to learn so much about both of them. We still don’t know everything but we can understand them better now. It’s so well done that even without having read “Storm Force” you wouldn’t feel lost at all.  I wouldn’t recommend you to start the Penton Legacy series with “Allegiance” , not it wouldn’t be possible, Susannah made is so that you get a lot more if you read it in order. It’s even more important in my opinion if you look at the psychological part of the characters; however you get enough reminders about the story as a whole that you shouldn’t feel too lost if you were to get this one first.

Now I must also admit that from the Penton books, this one isn’t my favourite and I even felt a little disappointed or more exactly I felt disturbed by the changes. The author didn’t do anything wrong, not at all, but I wasn’t expecting so many dark twists. At the end of “Omega”, book 3, we were left with a complete ending oh everything wasn’t happy per say but the couple had his happy ending, the villain was caught and we could have been happy if the series had come to a end then. I’m not saying it should have ended no but it was the feeling I got you know, main questions are answered, lovers are together and we can imagine things will improve and everyone will be happy at the end. You see?  Of course I wanted the big villains to suffer and yes I wanted to learn more about Cage but at the same time it was a want, a wish not a necessity. It felt complete enough.

In “Allegiance” we can feel the desperation, the tension and it not only the state of the city but more the psychological evolution of its inhabitants that got to me. It was heavy and so sad (a character dies within the first 5 chapters!). Yes Cage was a psychiatrist and for that reason he is better equipped to fight that but still I guess I had hoped like those living in Penton for a reprieve, to see the city come back to its glory while it’s a more insidious war that is brewing.

I didn’t like how Cage reacted in the precedent book but he redeemed himself in Allegiance in more than one way.  I loved how we discovered him, while he did the same and to see him speechless in front of a bold semi naked Robin was really to fun! Even Melissa went back to my good grace per say as she finally comes back to her sense.. however I was distressed to see how the war had impacted everyone in Penton…. It’s logical and a realistic answer to all the events it makes perfect senses but I wished for their happiness and it was a shock to see it was still so far away^^;; we discover a new side of Aidan that I’m not comfortable with.

The new twist on shifters is an interesting one and I can’t wait to see what Susannah has under her sleeve about them, I do want to learn more. What disappointed me the most was the ending because  it’s too much of a cliffhanger ( not real one but the feeling is there) it wouldn’t be possible to stop the series now…. Too much has to be done, answered and I do hope we will have a real HEA later too… until now the books felt complete , we wanted more yes ( I still do) but it wasn’t such a need like it is this time so I can only hope we will learn about a 5th book soon^^

I can only recommend you to start this series if you haven’t already since it’s a lot better read in order and before Allegiance “ Storm Force” would be a good read too to see more of Robin and Nik. I really can’t wait for  more

Score:  4/5

hello to all!

Time is really flying, in less than one month it will be my birthday, a little after the " Carnaval" and of course there will also be a lot of new releases i'm dying to get my hands on.

Thankfully it also means that the wait has finally come to an end today was realeased the last episode of the serial " Lovely, Dark and Deep" by Susannah Sandlin.....now just a few months of patience to get the paperback but you can already preoder it...because later this year we get the second installment of this series!!! YES, hard to tell you how excited i am with this year program but first thing first, here is my opinion on  this new story, first in a new series, it will be short because want to avoid spoilers...

And if like me you love discovering the little history behind a book, you can discover who inspired the characters this time here, if you are like it it could steal you some tears.

 happy Reading

"From award-winning author Susannah Sandlin comes a heart-pounding romantic thriller that pits a quick-witted scientist and a scarred ex–combat diver against a ruthless billionaire treasure hunter with ties to the White House....

When biologist Gillian Campbell makes an offhand comment about a family curse during a TV interview, she has no idea what her words will set in motion. Within days, Gillian finds herself at the mercy of a member of the C7, a secretive international group of power brokers with a dangerous game: competing to find the world’s most elusive treasures, no matter the cost, in money or in lives. To save her family, Gillian teams up with Shane Burke, a former elite diver who’s lost his way, navigating the brutal 'death coast' of the North Atlantic to find what the collector seeks: the legendary Ruby Cross of the Knights Templar, stolen by Gillian’s ancestor and lost at sea four hundred years ago."

My opinion:
Lovely! The title says it all in fact there are dark moments, some angsty ones and as a whole it’s more than a lovely reads^^. Susannah did succeed in my opinion at this attempt at the thriller genre and I was hooked right at the start.

As always the author is a master at descriptions you really fell like you right next to Gillian and Shane as you see by their eyes and feel their fears and frustration…  the psychological building of the characters is really essential in this story since the villain uses their weakness against them and Susannah really knows what she is doing because you  immediately fell like you are in their shoes and you understand how deep their guilt goes…you want to shake them sometimes and at others just to hug them with promise it will get better. They are really realistic, like you could meet them at the street corner.
The tension is really high at some point , The villains are making your skin crawl and biting your nails, but then there are also time for breath thanks to the little touch of humour with Shane ‘s best friend taste in music and of course.. TANK, the dog, so funny ^^ and protective^^  Shane ‘s nightmare.

If you love investigation, the idea of treasure with a good touch of romance spiced with steamy scene this book is right you alley! A must read

Spotlight: Lovely, Dark, and Deep by Susannah Sandlin

Hello to all!!

I was so deep in my reading that i nearly forgot to let you know about one of the book i have on my radar since i learned of its existence. As many of you probably know by now i'm  quite a fan of Suzanne Johnson who also writes under the name " Susannah Sandlin".

After writing in the urban fantasy genre ( The Sentinels of New Orleans series), the paranormal romance (The penton Legacy series) , and the thriller paranormal romance ( Storm Force), that talented author is now trying her hand in a Thriller, romantic suspense with is titled "Lovely, Dark, and Deep" which could become the first in a new series called "The Collectors" and it release tomorrow!!

Now what i am spolighting this today? For your benefit of course because by acting now you can save some money.

This novel will first be released as a serial on Kindle ( or for those who can use the free application on your computer, tablet)...each week you get one episode ( around 40pages) that will download automatically..and that for 8weeks since there will be 8episodes in total... Now here is the trick, if you pre order it now ( you have a few hours left^^ hurry pre orders help authors) or buy it early you will only pay 1,99dollars if you are in the US ( sadly serials are not available in every country or when it is not at the same price so check for this one).... yes 1,99 dollars for the whole book.... you pay once and you receive all the past ( if it's not a pre order) and future episodes when they release.

Now i know some of you are not fan of serial....i'm not in most case either but this one is really worth the wait and even if you don't want to read it before you got all the episodes if you buy it now you have it at the reduced price. That's quite a bargain.

As for the fan of print books like i'm, fear not ^^ after the last episode is released in digital we will get a print edition and the price of the digital version will go up of course. I can't wait to add this one on my shelves.

Really for having read the beginning i can tell you it promise to be excellent so if you love suspense and thriller with a touch of romance you must get this book in digital or print but you must have it.

So what are you waiting for? You can get it here and if you want more info you can check Susannah's Website  .  Remember the first episode is scheduled to be released tomorrow ( 30th)

Not convinced yet? Here comes the summary to entice you further^^

Chenoire by Susannah Sandlin

Hello to all,

i'm sorry i haven't been absent so long (and i'm not back at 100% yet) but the situation with my mother needed all my attention. She is improving and the doctor don't recommend the operation because of thebonusvs risk ratio so at least until the end of the year we need to take it easy with injection and rehabilitation. On my side, that stress didn't help with my hands at all but i'm glad i nearly finished my christmas correspondance.

I'm behind in the challenge i've entered with all what happened and i still don't have a lot of time but i will do my best to at least post a little this month and perhaps finish the challenge? ( need to find more hours in the days)

Like i told you weeks ago already ( time is flying) i will probably need to focus on short story and novella first  and that's what i did today. You know i'm a fan of Suzanne Johnson/Susannah Sandlin 's writing...i really can't resist so with her new release tomorrow i couldn't not share it with you. And since it's a short story with a funny publishing adventure i decided to share it with you but you would have know it if you follow the author so no real secret revealed but one that you must add to your ereader!

 happy reading!

Short description:

When Faith Garrity’s twin sister died, she lost a part of herself. Unable to move past the pain, the once-driven ornithologist is at risk of losing her career as well. To save her job, she heads to the oil-ravaged wetlands of Louisiana. There, in the bayou community of Chenoire, she encounters the handsome but guarded Zackary Préjean, still suffering from a great loss of his own.

She’s drawn to Zack, but soon finds that the Préjean family isn’t what it seems… They have dangerous secrets—and deadly enemies. Caught up in a feud that threatens the area’s uneasy truce, Faith and Zack must learn to trust each other. Survival will require enormous sacrifice, but it just might also give them both a way to move on

Story background:
The publishing and story of how a book or novella comes to exist can be strange sometimes… if this title “Chenoire” reminds you something don’t worry you are right in 2011 it was a free novella set in the Sentinels of New Orleans series…. Unfortunately that publisher didn’t see the potential of this short story…. But Suzanne Johnson also writes under the name of Susannah Sandlin and under that name she has another publisher…who wanted this story in his catalogue.

So after some adjustment this story changed of universe and I must said I do appreciate that modification more than I expected…. The story is the same but with different characters and as much as I love Rene delachaise I couldn’t see where this novella would fit in the “sentinels” timeline. Now we have more characters and thus possibly more fun to come^^ a merman could join the team of storm force or we could hope for other novella in the same universe but about other supernatural species ^^. So in a whole I think this is a excellent news and now you can get this novella and savour it!

My opinion:
Like often about novella I don’t want to say to much in fear of spoiling the story for those who haven’t discovered it yet….so I can say I really loved it, normally I don’t reread at least that soon a story because I remember it too well and get bothered….in this case it wasn’t the case at all. Yes I remembered the story and only the name changed but it was still has fun and I love how the author’s love for the area is spreading in her words. I do want to visit the region despite the gators now^^
The characters are fun are well built,. Faith is determined but really attentive to other and Zack^^ he will make you love fish in a different way than before^^ It’s a story about trust and acceptance, forgiving and learning to live again after a horrible lost…. So you will smile and well has tearing up a little while reading this but foremost you will immersed in Louisiana  natural beauty and left to want more ^^.

Now that this story is set in the universe of Susannah Sandlin I love it even more than in the past so you just definitively give it a try! It works perfectly as a stand alone so even if you haven’t read anything by this author ( under Suzanne Johnson or Susannah Sandlin name ) if you love paranormal romance and mermen as a different kind of shifter read this one^^ you will be looking for more ;)

Storm Force episode 9: The Finale!! ( review and Discussion)

Hello to all!

Story:
Episode 9: Like with a hurricane, the calm lasts only a short time before danger come back full force. Mori has finally accepted that  Michael Benedict had nothing of a good alpha and she is ready to fight for what she believes in….she just didn’t know it was going to be so soon. Kell suffers but stays determined.

My opinion:
Fabulous, I admit I was edgy before starting this last episode…. All the tips in episodes 8 was leading to something big and  it ‘s.  They really didn’t figured Michael Benedict well at all thinking he was going to be careful and heal first… which is strange since they considered him like a psychopath/sociopath and their kind are rarely reasonable.
I loved the fact both Mori and Kell accepted they would need to act as a team, with each one having a speciality, a “point fort”. They aren’t perfect but each of them can give something to the others and they will need it quicker than expected and without a strategy ready.

I admire how Kell realise how he did made things harder for himself because of his pride and how determined he can be to still manage to move after all he suffered. The fact, his past and grandfather’s belongings will help made me smile and I think the shell oil thing was an interesting reminder of what Benedict wanted to destroy …and that made his use so ironic. Justice served right in his own way

I enjoyed discovering Mori a great swimmer and the fight with Michael was really well described.  The action, tension and timing were simply just what it needed to make this book an excellent one.

Now for the ending…let just said that if the publisher doesn’t want more books in the series I will become crazy! I want more, I need to see how Archer is doing, how Kell will adjust with Mori and their respective obligation and I want Robin (preferably with Nik). Gadget has made his apparition so now I want him in action not just in teleconference.

Score:  5/5

Discussion:
1)       Do you want more? Would you prefer the rest of the series (if you want more) to be in books or serials first like this time?
2)       If you have read the book, which character is your favourite so far and why?

Storm Force episode 7 by Susannah Sandlin ( review and discussion)

Hi!! Happy First of May!

Welcome to our weekly Storm force review and discussion! Episode 7 is now released so only two more weeks before the grand finale! Hurry to get the kindle edition for only 1,99 dollars; later it will be too late and it’s really a book you should read. Print edition will be available on 18th June

For more info on Susannah and her books you can check her blog HERE
To buy Storm Force on amazon click on Storm Force serial

Story:
Episode 7: The Colonel decides to take control of the situation….unfortunately like often the big boss knows nothing about the situation and take unrealistic decision endangering their team…Kell must confront Michael alone while his teammates are sent to different locations…if the shifters agree to obey that is.

My opinion:
I can’t believe how angry I was while reading this episode… Mori still think she should act alone against Michael in hope to protect Kell…like she hasn’t learnt from her mistakes last time. Fortunately, Robin is rubbing off on her ^^ shifters women will become independent and determined. They don’t want to be left behind when they can fight…. I’m loving Robin more and more. And I’m sure Archer would have sided with them too. Nik is also too “ trained” to disobey but I was surprised to see him open himself to Mori and reveal his talents to her…

Then Kell can be so stupid… he knows Michael Benedict, he has the info and still follow blindly the orders…arf I wanted to slap him, to shake him. Even more after what he told Archer, he now bows in front of the colonel…he is brainwashed…his training really did him worse than good. The colonel doesn’t take the risks into account and could loose his team , I just hope he will regret and give them more liberty in the future.

Only two more episodes, I’m really curious about what  Susannah will reveal next and I do want more of Archer!! So I do recommend this book to you and I will wait with impatience for the next episode ( because yes there was a cliffhanger but I didn’t feel it was an hard one… not like the one of chapter 4 at least I guess after such an hard one I became stronger^^)

Score:  5/5

Discussion:

1)       Do you think people who give orders ( in a “ normal” job  or in military) should have been first doing the lambda jobs, to learn the reality of it before earning their place in the deciding ranks?
2)       What do you think about serials ( books released in several episodes)? Have you tried some? Is  Storm force your first try?

Storm Force Episode 6 by Susannah Sandlin ( review and discussion)

Hello to all,

Welcome to our weekly Storm force review and discussion! Episode 6 has been released and in a way it gives us a small reprieve, a really short one though. I can tell you I was nearly trembling when came the time to read this… after the  eventful and heartbreaking two last episodes with cliffhanger really hard I wasn’t sure what to expect just that I wanted to know more. No real cliffhanger this time, thanks god, I’m not sure my heart would have supported a new stressful ending in a row but not an happy end either (still 3 episodes to get it ^^ no despair)

Now I do understand those of you who prefer to wait until the release of all chapters to start reading this book but remember if you want to do that, buying the ebook now for only 1,99 is a great offer and you will receive the new release without anything else to do (and all the precedents episodes of course). Once the serial is finished the price will go up. For those who don’t want digital edition, the book will be released in print and other format on June 18, mark the date on your calendar or pre order it already you won’t regret it.

Story:
Episode 6:Kell and is time have started the extraction/rescue mission, still  without the knowledge of their commander. Archer and Robin are at the first line while Kell and Nik take care of the system details…humans and shifters against shifters only…precision and time are needed because another threat is still hanging.

My opinion:
This week my heart really did flip flop…while I was reassured to see each chapter ending at the right moment without tension or stress, I really felt like a member of the team with some pressure on my shoulder to make everything right….with some angst moments necessary since it’s a kind of thriller after all but also happy one, romance let’s not forget it … action and crushing, devastating news.

Mori is starting to loose hope and to fall ill from infection when she manages to communicate a little with Robin to prepare her rescue. While she is happy about that, she is also curious and a little afraid when she understands that she doesn’t know who are the shifters helping her, she is thinking about Kell but not having taken the time to discuss with him she has no idea who is team-mates are.

I really liked to see more of Archer in this chapter, he is really capable. However that’s Robin that surprised me the most, in a way she acted quite maternal with Mori, calming her, confiding in her and encouraging the little dire wolf. So far we had see her sense of humour and a little of her job but this time we have large moment with her and we can see what’s under the “military” part of our eagle. I’m also really curious about what Nik saw…

We also get some new about the governor and what is happening in the city when we also get some info on the New Orleans part of the mission and the rest of the team Gadget and Adam. …. Let just say I do hope there was a little misunderstanding? Some confusion, disappearance anything but not what we learn here!! Because even if we just heard about those, I already like them and care for them ….

Time is becoming and issue and the weather could complicates things but our friends are really determined and if  they can’t prove what Michael has done, they still want revenge and deliver justice….even more after Mori’s confession.

Score:  5/5

Discussion:

1)       Have you already gotten attached to a character that was just cited, spoke of but that didn’t appear in the book/story as of yet. Can you tell us something about him/her, what caught your interest?
2)       Since we are at 2/3 of the book so far what aspect do you prefer the action, the romance or the suspense, the thriller part or how Susannah manages to put them together? What makes your heart beats faster^^

Storm Force Episode 5 by Susannah Sandlin ( review and discussion)

Hi!

Welcome to our weekly Storm force review and discussion! Finally episode 5 has been released which comes right on time for those who follow the serials and have been suffering from the heartbreaking and anxious cliffhanger at the end of episode 4….one week was really too long to wait when it ends in such circumstances.

Now this week we get a wonderful new episode, but also another wonderful news…. For readers who want to get the print edition (like I do) the release as been moved to 18 June instead of July isn’t great?

So First i will remind you that the kindle price is only 1,99 dollars at the moment and with that you will get all the episodes already released and the new one as soon as it is without additional cost.  With the newest schedule it means the book will be completed in May but for the print edition, and audo etc you will have to wait until JUNE when it will be released  and at that time the kindle price will also go up so let you be tempted.

Story:
Episode 5:His team finds Kell handcuffed to the bed and the “ suspect” has disappeared but as they laugh a little about it, Mori nature is revealed.  At the same time Mori is suffering but pain is the least of her trouble now as reality of Michael‘s nature comes to lights. All her hopes to be able to change something disappear…as Michael threathens Kell and explain how the rest of her life will be like.
However Kell isn’t backing down and once the shock has passed with his team, without his superior’s knowledge, he starts to strategize how to help save Mori and how to counter Michael’s possible plan, when they discover that the situation is a lot worse that the one they envisioned.

My opinion:
Arg!!! I’m biting my nails again!... and I will keep doing it as long as the serials continues it seems. Last episode ended with a cliffhanger on a hard moment after the tension went up a few notches but this time it’s even worse. Michael is so cruel and disgusting! He doesn’t want to win he wants to crush Mori and he dared to complain last time?! For me he has nothing of what an alpha need to have! He just a dictator! But I guess I’m even more angry at Leslie, we just learn about her, but the idea she could go with his plan, to accept such a situation, all the while being human?! I would hate her if it’s true!! She should team with Mori not planning to steal her children! And Michael has other evil plans, it’s not just Mori but he want to destroy a lot more…. I’m nearly sure he broke some laws with his actions to the governor, and I’m not thinking human laws but he is covering his tracks he is not only evil he is also a coward!

We do have a revelation about Mori’s nature and that’s great. We also discover another Member of team Kell: Archer the feline shifter with a lot of charm. I appreciated to see Kell destabilised and at the same time being able to put his judgement in question and rethink his position. He wants to save Mori, it’s his own priority but he is able to see that his team is trying to help. He has a new view on the shifters on his team too but at the same time he is learning new this about shifters system and it’s not reassuring or pleasing to him. Not to me either, I can’t understand how Archer seems so calm about it like it’s just normal and nothing is wrong about it. In a way, I think Kell is in a similar situation than Mori… having to wait, bid his time until he can act and put that time to think about everything he has discovered but at least he is in better condition for it.

I really dislike the idea Michael has on the women… and I can’t wait to see Robin  to prove him how wrong he was as for Mori… she needs to keep her mind and not make another mistake…she can’t trust him and even less submit to this dement! .. oki I’m even more angry at her parents….and I do hope the old alpha didn’t know about it ( arf Michael could have killed him with treachery  just to have his place it wouldn’t surprise me.)

Next chapter can’t come soon enough now, you really need to join us and discover this excellent book ( which makes honour to his “thriller” part) but  Susannah managed to make us laugh a little, to release a little of the tension with humour when his team discover Kell but then back to angst and psychological violence.. really it’s well done.
