Like i told you this day is dedicated to " The Amoveo Legend" by Sara Humphreys, a paranormal romance series now i will introduce you to the second book of the series called " Untouched". To be honest, when this book showed up earlier this month i was completly surprised because i haven't received any mail telling me i was going to have it and i remember speaking of it on several blogs but not giving my address so it was really a surprise a really good one. A big big thanks you to Lisa Devette from Sourcebooks. Now it's with a great pleasure that i share this review with you and to make more people happy it will be both in English and French.
Comme je l'ai précisé dans mon précédent post, j'ai décidé de dédié cette journée à la série " The Amoveo Legend" écrite par Sara Humphreys, une série de paranormales romances avec le tome 2 intitulé " Untouched". Pour être honnête lorsque j'ai reçu ce livre début du mois, je ne m'y attendais pas du tout car je n'avais reçu aucun mail me demandant mon adresse ou m'informant que j'allais le recevoir . Je me rapelle bien en avoir discuté sur différents blogs mais sans plus cela a donc été pour une une complète et merveille surprise.Un tout tout grand merci à Lisa Devette de Sourcebooks. Et c'est avec grand plaisir que je vais partager mon avis avec vous et afin de m'adresser à un maximum, cet avis sera bilingue Anglais / Français

My opinion:
Sara Humphreys did a great job with this book, the romance and the
mystical aspect of the story are present and even more than in the first book
but we also get a lot more of suspense. The mix is perfectly balanced and
captures the reader and in matter of pages he is completely immersed in the
story.
Now, it’s true that if I hadn’t read the
first book before this one it could have be confusing so I highly recommend to
read them in order because yes each book is dedicated on one couple but behind
there is a more global story that is unfolding.

Humphreys a vraiment atteint son objectif avec ce livre, la romance et l’aspect
mystique sont présents et même d’avantage que dans le premier tome mais s’y est
ajouté en plus une bonne dose de suspense. Le mélange est parfaitement
équilibré et capture le lecteur qui en quelques pages est complètement immergé
dans le récit. Maintenant, il est aussi vrai que si je n’avais pas lu le
premier tome avant, cela aurait pu sembler confus, raison pour laquelle je vous
recommande chaudement de les lire dans l’ordre car bien que chaque livre se
concentre sur la romance d’un couple en particulier il y a en ligne de fond une
intrigue plus complexe qui sert de fil rouge à la série dans son ensemble.
In this book, we share the romance of
the fox Dante, Malcom’s cousin, and Kerry, best friend of Samantha. While
protecting Sam, Dante has discovered that the mate that was escaping him in the
dream realms was in fact Kerry, protected by her psychic shield, and that
explains also why he tried to protect her in the first book. Kerry is like we
learned earlier avoiding the touch of everyone except Sam but it’s only know
that we discover the real reason for that ( I won’t say more so no spoilers
here ^^). Dante will have to help her
overcome her instinctual protection to create a trust and a real link with her
but before that he must understand her and she isn’t like she wants people
think she is. There is an immediate spark but it’s not enough and he must work
to get his girl and make her trust and love him. I really like this aspect of
the relationship. Yes they are predestined but they still can refuse it, and
suffers the consequences of course.
Dans
ce tome, nous découvrons l’histoire de Dante du clan du renard, cousin de
Malcom, et de Kerry la meilleure amie de Samantha. Lorsqu’il était chargé de
protéger cette dernière, Dante à découvert que son âme sœur qui lui échappait
jusque là dans le royaume des rêves n’était autre que Kerry qui possédait un
fort bouclier psychique. ce qui explique aussi pourquoi il avait risqué sa vie
pour la sauver dans le premier livre de la série. Kerry passe sa vie, comme
nous l’avons appris précédemment, à éviter les contacts physiques avec pour
seule exception Samantha et même dans ce cas ceux-ci restent de courte durée.
Et c’est dans ce récit que nous en apprenons la véritable raison (mais je n’en
dirais pas plus pour éviter les spoilers).
Dante
va devoir l’aider à surmonter ses instincts de protection et gagner sa
confiance pour créer un lien avec elle afin de la protéger mais pour ce faire
il va devoir d’abord la comprendre car elle n’est pas ce qu’elle laisse
paraître. Il y a une étincelle immédiate entre eux mais ce n’est pas assez il
va devoir faire des efforts pour conquérir la fille de ses rêves et gagner son
amour en plus de sa confiance. J’aime beaucoup cet aspect de la relation où
bien que prédestiné à être ensemble, ils ont encore la possibilité de refuser,
même si ils devront bien sûr alors en souffrir les conséquences.
The plot is building more quickly than
in the first book, thanks to all that we learned in it and right at the
beginning Dante knows the dangers and the risks. So this book is also darker
than the first one, the group knows they must be careful and can’t trust
everybody is their own camp and that has an impact on their mood and on the way
they react to threats. They have to rely on each other while they are trying to
navigate between the Purist and the Cadeo and all the others that could pose a
problem to mixed mating pairs. While the situation seems desperate, there are
always lights somewhere and they will have to look for them while keeping hope.
L’intrigue
se construit également plus rapidement que dans le premier tome grâce notamment
à toute les informations dont le lecteur et les personnages disposent
dorénavant. Dès le début, Dante connaît les dangers et les risques. Aussi ce
livre peut paraître plus sombre que le précédent, le group sait désormais
qu’ils doivent être prudents et ne peuvent plus faire confiance aveuglément à
quelqu’un simplement parce qu’il serait également Amovéo et cela à un impact
sur leur humeur et leurs réactions évidemment.
Ils vont devoir se reposer les uns sur les autres lorsqu’ils essaient de
naviguer entre les différents obstacles que ce soit Les Puristes, les Cadéo ou
d’autres qui pourraient représenter une menace pour les couples mixtes.
Toutefois si la situation semble désespérée, il reste toujours des lumières
quelque part et ils vont devoir les trouver en gardant espoirs.
This is a great paranormal romance and I
like the fact that there is a global plot underneath that links all the books
together in a real series and not as addition of stand alones. Sara Humphreys writing style is fresh and
inviting, you understands the difficulties the characters encounter and you
suffer with them when treachery strikes. We find again with joy Malcom and Sam
that while they aren’t the principal couple, are still important and not just
put in the story to gain point with the readers. A real pleasure, even if the
kind of shapeshifters that are dominant in this book are more common.
Il
s’agit d’une excellente romance paranormale et j’apprécie le fait qu’il y a en
arrière plan une intrigue globale qui rassemble les livres en une véritable
série et non une collection de one shot. Le style d’écriture de Sara Humphreys
est frais et invite à la lecture, le
lecteur ressent ce que les personnages éprouvent et peut s’identifier avec eux,
on sourit avec eux comme on souffre avec eux lorsque la trahison les touche. On
retrouve également avec plaisir Malcom et Samantha les protagonistes du premier
tome « Unleashed » qui, même s’ils ne sont pas ici les personnages
centraux, ont un rôle important et ne sont pas simplement cité pour faire
plaisir au public. Un véritable plaisir comme lecture même si les sortes de
changeformes sur lesquelles se centre ce récit sont plus communes que dans le
premier tome.
