March Take Control of your TBR pile Challenge 2016 sign up

Hello to all,

For a few hours we are still in February and i'm glad for that since i'm not looking forward March this year. I'm super busy lately ( though most of the remodeling has been done) and my mood isn't at its best so i've been tempted to just hide and wait until bad times are behind me.

However, that's not a good idea so i've been looking for some motivations and i remembered this Challenge hosted by  Kimberly from the Caffeinated Book Reviewer....i do hope it will give me the needed motivation to at least reach my goal for 2016 of 4 books per month , with my place to read during the day lost i really need to push myself.

Take Control of Your TBR Pile

What books i will read? i have no idea just thet they have been  in my pile before march 2016 ^^;; for teh rest i try to avoid putting more pressure and stress that i'm already under so we will see. Minimum to reach: 4, more that would be great^^

You can check  the rules in detail and you can join us Here

*Rules*

2016 Reading Challenge part 1 ( the usual ones)

Hello to all,

First Sunday of 2016 so time for me to think a little more about which challenge i will undertake...a lot of those i did in teh past were cancelled by their host so i have been loking in some i took in the past but not each year and some news

To start the annual ones which i do every year so far:

goodreads, the most common one that you can see on my profile

and

TBR Pile reading Challenge hosted by Evie from Bookish Lifestyle

image2

This one is simple you have to read books that are in your TBR pile from several months and that were released in 2015 or earlier.

You can sign up and check all the rules Here  i will put my progress on the 2016 challenges page

As always i prefer to start low so i'm aiming to level 1 1-10 A Firm Handshake

Are there some challenge that you participate in each year? Which ones and for how long?

Bout Of Books 7.0: i'm in!

Hello to all,

Bout of Books

After participating and enjoying greatly the last two Bout of Books editions, i couldn't miss this one...i admit i hesitate a little because once again i'm not in top shape but i found this helped me a lot and the advantage of this read-a-thon is that you decide to pick your own goals that means low pressure ( or a lot depending on what you want...)

I've a tendency to set my own goals low to be sure to achieve them ^^ i hate to fail and i prefer to take into account that i won't necessarily have a connxion all the time etc... but i won't start worry over them now and i will put my goals when the read-a-thon start meaning monday 13th May

If you want to join don't hesitate, it's easy, fun and a great way to meet others bloggers

Here is the official blurb done by the Bout of Books Team and you can have more info here

Official Blurb
(Please make sure you’re linking back to the Bout of Books website and attributing properly.)

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 13th and runs through Sunday, May 19th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 7.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. -From the Bout of Books  team

Are you participating too? Have you already chosen your goals?

Biannual Blogathon Bash winter 2013 edition sign up & goals

Hello to all!

At the moment, i'm a bit depressed, bad news and harsh winter can have this result. However i don't want to give up so easily and fate has seen that i could be motivated: this Week end is the winter edition of the biannual Blogathon bash created by Kathleen. I've learned a lot last year and i though it could be the  thing i need so  between  25 january ( 8am EST) - that means 2pm for me ( thant you for the countdown^^;;)- and 28 january 8 am EST i will try to work a minimum of 24h for the blog , not necessarily online job but still work.

You can still join to all info and sign up are Here. Don't hesitate it can be instructive AND fun.

Wrap up update: in total i spend around 31h working ( minus a few minutes) and as you can see i nearly completed all my goals but i also added a few tasks during the weekend like the creation of a page for the pictures of RAk i did. So i think i can say it has been a success

Like the first time i was really instructive and i've learned a lot in a fun way. It was a pleasure but if i want it to stay that way i need to better organise my time , i was afraid of not finishing everyting so i worked really late and in the end i'm more tired than before starting and for next time i need to take care of that.

i haven't entered to win any prize either ( some where really good but i wasn't sure i would manage even if i won so i prefered to let the opportunity to those who really need them. )

My goals:

  • Read one book and make the review
  • Read a little more (no obligation to finish or do the review yet)
  • Clean my desk
  • Clean favorite listing
  • Put some order in my books ( see which one qualify for the challenge and classify them so i know when to read them)
  • Start an inventory of my shelves
  • Clean the giveaway pages
  • Create a page for the handmade gift/creation to help the selection
  • Answer the comments
  • Participate in one mini challenge ( i only put one because i need to see what they will be ^^;; i can't do everything so need to find one that i could manage and that is of interest for me) 2 done: back up and back up button ( thank you so much for this tips!) and the blogger notebook ( always useful for me)
  • Enter a giveaway( want to but keep postponing it so this wk i need to enter before it closes)

Do you want to join? Leave your link and we could support each other.

A new challenge, yes one more but only for the season

Hello to all,

I was going to bed when i saw a new challenge starting today and i could not resist.... i'm really busy yes but since i was planning to read "holidays" books in December i couldn't resist and i'm signing up for the Holiday Reading Challenge 2012 hosted by Book Lovers inc.

It's an easy challenge where you can choose your level i will start with level 1 because i'm not sure how much time i will have and i will participate only in december ( but you can start already). For this challenge all "holiday" books count no matter the format or if the link to the holiday is little ( like in the cover only etc)

You can find all the informations and sign up here

So i'm starting with level 1 Santa's Helper meaning 1-3 holiday themed books  but i hope i will be able to move up the level ( it's autorized so don't hesitate)

As for which books.... i don't know yet so it will be a surprise the only title for sure is " Christmas in Dogtown" by Suzanne Johnson  i have it on my desk patiently waiting for the 1st december to be devored^^

Happy Reading!

Review copy Clean up event: sign up

Hello to all,

i'm still a quite new blogger and thus i don't receive that many books for review far from it and the advantage is that i can give top priority to those few books i get. Others bloggers have an huge pile and that can become depressing so as a motivation the owner of Nyx Book Reviews (Céline) and Books, Biscuits & Tea (Vicky) have organised this event. You can also join no matter the size of your review pile the sign up close the 15th august and you have to read and review before the end of the month. There will be twitter party, challenges etc so go check it here

Now, i was really lucky to receive a book for review and i will perhaps receive another one  ( i would update this post if that happens) so i can join this event even if my participation will be short.

To be reviewed:
Deacon Leeds and the Pyramid of Symbols by Grant Morris

Come and join us!
