Two Witches and a Wiskey ( The Guild Codex: Spellbound 3) by Annette Marie

Hello to all,

i discovered that i had forgotten to let you know what i thought about the 3rd book in the Guild codex: spellbound series by Annette Marie....this is really an addictive series so i jumping on the books as soon as i can get my hands on them ( a spin off will start in september!!!!)
So no more delay......

Happy Reading!

Short description from goodreads :

Three months ago, I landed a job as a bartender. But not at a bar—at a guild. Yeah, the magic kind.

I'm not a badass mage like my three smokin' hot best friends. I'm not a sorcerer or an alchemist, or even a wussy witch. I'm just a human, slinging drinks like a pro and keeping my non-magical nose out of mythic business. Seriously, I know my limits.

So why am I currently standing in a black-magic ritual circle across from a fae lord?

Somewhere behind me, my three mage friends are battling for their lives. Somewhere near my feet is the rogue witch I just knocked out with a stolen spell. And I have about five seconds to convince this very angry sea god not to shmoosh me like a bug.

I'm pretty sure this wasn't part of the job description.

--
Note: The three mages are definitely sexy, but this series isn't a reverse harem. It's 100% fun, sassy, fast-paced urban fantasy.

My opinion:
I love Hoshi ^^, realy Tori and Zak exchanges are hilarious and i really appreciated those. The investigation in this instalment is interesting, focused on mages and faes but somehow i found the guild lacking in this case. Our three mages are not at their top (and the rest of the guild is slow) so Tori really needed new allies...even if they are little and green^^

The rhythm was good, the story compelling and i loved it however this one is harder to review without spoiler so i will just let you know that it's excellent but you need to read this in order

Score:  4/5

Constant Risk ( A Bree & Tanner Thriller3) by Janie Crouch

Hello to all!

Some in the world are lucky to get book earlier than others but thankfully with time we all can get our hands on good books. Today i'm sharing with you my feeling about the latest Bree and Tanner novel by Janie Cropuch while waiting for the last book in the series very soon.

Happy Reading

Publisher: Harlequin Intrigue
Publication: 2019
Genre: romantic suspense
Violence: mild
Language: normal
sex: none
Public: 18+

Description from goodreads :

 The hunters
Become the hunted.

Deputy Tanner Dempsey and Bree Daniels are tasked with unraveling a deadly mystery in Dallas—one that involves transmitting live feeds of victims trapped in tanks as they fill with water. Bree’s computer genius is their only hope at solving the crime. Knowing the darkness in Bree’s past, Tanner is determined to make sure she comes out of this emotionally unscathed. Especially once they both become a killer’s next target…

My opinion:

Reading more about Bree & Tanner is always a pleasure. i love to see how both characters are evolving along the series as well as their relationship becoming deeper and deeper. At this point they do understand each other not perfectly yet but so much better than before still some misunderstanding are possible and those made me smile as it was so cute.

This investigation isn't related to their past, even if it's never too far, as they are asked to help in a series of murders and kidnapping in Dallas where Bree  genius mind is their last hope , Tanner just tag along to help her adjust to stranger and kind of act as a emotional translator . Not that it will stay that simple of course.

This is a real page turner ,  i loved the intrigue and how the author gave us more to expect before diverting us to another lead once more to keep us on our toes. There were humour with Noah and Tanner 's banters and other moment but also some sweet ones to balance with the heavy suspense part. Really a must read this could work as stand alone but i can't recommend you enough to read this whole series in order.

Assailants, Asphalt & Alibis ( A Camper & Criminals cozy 8) by Tonya Kappes

Hello to all,

with the return of the sun , i was in the mood for funny cozy mystery and lucky me the new Tonya Kappes is out soon so i get to share my opinion with you!

Happy Reading!

Publisher: Tonya Kappes
Publication: 2019
Genre: cozy mystery, southern
Language: normal
sex: none
Public: 16

Description from goodreads :

Welcome to Normal, Kentucky~ where nothing is normal. A Campers and Criminal Mystery Series is another brainchild of USA Today Bestselling Author Tonya Kappes. If you love her quirky southern characters and small town charm with a mystery to solve, you're going to love her new cozy mystery series!

Telling stories around a campfire at Happy Trails Campground is very entertaining to The Laundry Club women until one of the story teller's tall tale about murder and alibis comes true, leaving the story teller MURDERED!

Once again, Mae and the Laundry Club ladies find themselves doing things they never thought they'd do while trying to get clues to who or why someone murdered the tourist.

Mae discovers an unheeded warning that will bring the tall tale to life if she can't end the story for good before the killer strikes again.

My opinion:
Very good cozy to keep you entertained until the last page! I loved to read more about Mae and the gang but in this one we sure get more of Agnes, Hank's grandmother who is a fabulous character i wouldn't mind to keep seeing more of her.
While on a hunt trip together, the gang witness some feud between a well known hunter ( and story teller ) Mason with his ex-wife and others...so it becomes suspicious when said man  fall from the top of a rock dead....

Mae can't let her adoptive mother be a suspect, nor can she stays of trouble so with the rest of the laudromat club the treasure hunt become the murderer's hunt.

As always with this series we get a good dosis of humour, a touch of romance and a great investigation in a perfectly balanced space. A excellent cozy that could be read as a stand alone

A Must read!

The Boyfriend Collector part two by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

Hello to all,

Today i'm sharing with you my opinion on the second part and conclusion of the Boyfriend Collector series by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff...while this isn't my favourite genre to read i did enjoy this one and the fact it released early is quite a treat. Happy Reading!
Publisher: Paper & Silver, Inc
Publication: 2019
Genre: contemporary romance
Violence: strong
Language: normal
sex: steamy
Public: 18+

 Description from goodreads :

From New York Times Bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff comes the STEAMY Part Two and conclusion of The Boyfriend Collector.

My name is Dr. Bex Hughes, and I’m in love with a woman who cannot truly love me back. Unless I help her as my patient, and that is forbidden—a taboo in the eyes of the world and the worst professional sin for a therapist.

But what else can I do? Rose was once a real-life Cinderella. Now she’s wealthy, single, and free. Except she’s convinced that love is used to hurt people, family tries to murder you for money, and no one can be trusted. It’s all she’s ever known.

So I’m bending every rule I’ve ever lived by and helping her find her way to real happiness. Only, my self-control wears thin as I hear the details of Rose’s dating adventures. Can I prove I will love her unconditionally before my jealousy shatters her trust in me forever?

My opinion:

This story starts right where part 1stopped and it's great because this is not just a steamy book it actually has a more deep story behind it and it's what makes it a good romance in my eyes.
Rose is determined to follow her dreams to be free but not really sure of how to do that when Bex just can't deny his feelings anymore....he is determined to help her without making her feel like she has obligations towards him so he decides to keep his feelings secret....even if it means listening to Rose's experiences with other men....

They both need to learn to trust each other but themselves first which isn't easy as danger is still lurking around and even bigger than before.... some unexpected allies, some twisted villains  added to their insecurities....and fantasies.

This story has steamy descriptions but a real background story as well; we follow both Bex and Rose point of view, as well as another, on the events and investigation trying to keep Rose safe so it's really an interesting story of which  you will want to discover the conclusion.

Score:  3,5/5

Shadow ( Linear Tactical 6) by Janie Crouch

Hello to all,

Time is flying and i feel like i'm behind everything lately but at least for this book i'm not since i'm sharing it with you before it's releases next week so you can preorder it. If you follow the blog you have seen that i do enjoy the Linear tactical series a lot so i couldn't miss this new instalment.

Happy Reading!

Publisher: Janie Crouch
Publication: 2019
Genre: romantic suspense, military romance
Violence: mild
Language: normal
sex: none
Public: 18+

Description from goodreads :

Heath Kavanaugh lost years of his life working for a covert agency that ended up being the enemy. Knowing they put something inside his head—constant, incomprehensible whispers—is driving him crazy.

He needs answers, but they’re nowhere to be found.

What he definitely doesn't need is to fall hard for his Linear teammate's younger sister, Jacquelyn—the adorable linguistics doctoral student who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Especially when Heath’s attention puts her directly in the path of a danger he thought was gone for good. To stop it, they’ll have to figure out what’s in his head. And hope it doesn’t destroy them all.

My opinion:
So good, as always the author gives us part of the info we wanted and just makes us want more. In this book we focus on Heath as he tries to get answers about what was done to him during the secret project he was part of years ago. He does have symptom like Grace or Dorian: nosebleed etc but he has noise in his head that to him doesn't make sense and make him feel crazy.
He can't stop those noises but while working it quiets down so when an FBI agent comes ask his help for an infiltration he jumps on the offer....
Heath is loyal, often in the shadows (thus his name) that doesn't mean he isn't taking risks  for his friends he is just more discreet.

Lyn is very ill with a heart trouble but she still wants to lives to the fullest and her dreams are travel abroad and dead languages....with a over protective family she ends up working in secret while letting them believe what they want. When meeting Heath she must accept that she is also a woman  and under his charm.  Lyn is really a courageous heroine, she is determined to reach her dreams, she doubts herself but at the same time tries her best and i admired her for that.

We do get more info about the crypt project in this instalment but it doesn't feel like everything is completely finished yet so i'm curious about next book for sure. I loved how easy to read this story was while being a page turner full of action with the right amount of romance and humour.
As a bonus we do get to see more of the whole team we met in precedent books as well as meeting more of Gavin's family member like Noah we met in the Bree and Tanner series.
A must read for sure

Score:  4,5/5
