Racing to Love : Jesse’s Soul (Racing to love 2) by Amy Gregory

Hello to all,

July will bein the past in a few hours and i didn't see the time flying...so many thing to do so little time. Now in June i've forgotten to post a sport romance like i intended to, to keep up with the challenge hosted by Anna so this month i was adamant to read one....i wanted to keep introducing author new to me but i had forgotten that July was the month when a new book, in a series i loved was released... so i had to be up to date for this event...the release of the third book in the Racing to Love series by Amy Gregory that will have Eli has a main character...

So before i get back to a new author and then eventually to other books in series that i've started already i needed to give you my opinion on Jesse's Soul...let just said you will need tissue because it's a really emotional reads but the romance is sweet and you will be happy to follow this author.

Short description from goodreads :

Jesse Frost lived the life most men would kill for. Fast bikes, fame, money, and looks. He hadn’t thought much about those things throughout his career. He was just an easy-going guy from Texas who always worked hard for everything he got in life. He’d been the shy guy in school, so when the prom queen found him years later, he thought he had finally made it. Her mirage, however, left him empty and certain there was no one that wanted him just for the man inside.

Emery Kincaid has a last name that is revered in their world. A woman in a man’s world and succeeding, Irish through and through, she has the temper and sass to boot and a reputation that precedes her. She has remained strong because she’s had no other choice. The pain she masks runs deep and hiding it is the only way she can survive.

Thrown together and forced to be in each other’s space day in and day out, sparks start to fly—from chemistry and the brakes she tries desperately to throw on. Without a doubt, Jesse thinks he’s found her, but the girl that stole his heart has a stubborn streak a country mile wide.

What Jesse doesn’t know could break his heart. Hiding her true feelings for him is the only way for Emery to protect him and in turn—herself. She barely made it out the first time. If she let Jesse in and he walked away…well, that’s a risk her heart can’t take.

My opinion:
Moving…Amy Gregory is really talented to mix sport romance with other topic to make not only a sweet romance but one really moving…it’s hard not to want to shed a tear at some points but i really appreciate how open she made Jesse… he is really a formidable hero.. protective, loving and “going alpha” only when it’s needed.
He is really a good guy with a warming personality (which has always amused me with his last name: Frost) and here we saw how honourable he is, despite hurting - because let be honest i would have wanted to punch the prom queen, to tell all the city what she has done, as you would more than probably.-and he will never take it on on his friends, partners and family. No, mister suffer alone or at least try. He does deserve an happy end so when you read how long and what it takes, you can only admire him and at the same time a little part tell you that yes it’s unfair but only him could do it.

Emery is really an epitome of the Irish girl and you better not to mess with her. Having grown in a men,’s world she know she must have a strong front but when tragedy strikes it’s not a wall she build but a complete bunker. She never expected to feel welcome on the team, even less on such a short notice. Yes Reid is her father but despite being a Kincaid and the best at what she does, she still is a female…however the gang isn’t just a bunch of guys, they are good persons and soon the majority see behind her shell … Molly becomes quickly the friend she never had but even more than that, she becomes like a sisters and with her pushing her to Jesse, Emery can’t win the fight to keep it only professional between them, even less when Jesse sees right through her.
What most don’t know, or at least at first, is what Emery suffered and endured… Amy Gregory really managed to make all the suffering lost of hope stand out but with behind a strong girl, mature and who deserves love.
I can relate to Emery a lot, and i’m sad she is mostly suffering because of what society tends to put forwards as the most important or even as mandatory without taking into account what real life can be. I think this story could really help some girls and women to find hope again, like Emery because for each of us there a special one, we just have to find him ( or her)

One bonus was to find Molly and Carter and to see how things have evolved since book 1, and also all the gang is there Reid, Eli, Brody and some new ones to makes us hope for several more books^^

I did cry with this book, i got angry at how unfair some people and things can be but also i hoped, i dreamed and i smiled so if you want a excellent sport romance albeit a really, really emotional one, you should give this one a try. It could be read as stand alone without trouble but I would recommend to read book 1 since it will give you a deeper understanding of all the secondary characters.

Oh and by the way, don't forget to enter the giveaway for an ebook by Debra smith you still have a few days: enter here

Short description from goodreads :

And you think beauty pageants are scary?

Persephone Alcmedi has been persuaded to compete for the position of High Priestess of the Cleveland, Ohio, coven — now that the former priestess, Vivian Diamond, has strangely gone missing. Unfortunately, there are a few small problems with the idea. Not only does Seph know rather more about Vivian's disappearance than the other witches realize, but the epic struggle she's just survived has left her with some highly unusual powers — ones that could be dangerous to reveal. Despite her reluctance, she agrees to participate, if only to prevent snooty Hunter Hopewell, an obnoxious but talented witch, from ending up in the winner's circle. Can Seph hide her secrets — including her connection to the master vampire-wizard Menessos — from the terrifyingly wise judges? Plus, there's her rock 'n' roll werewolf boyfriend, Johnny, and some angry fairies to deal with....

Once the competition begins, a finalist turns up dead. It looks as if one of the contestants is willing to do anything — including murder — to win. Suddenly Seph has even more on her plate than she thought: from solving a murder to working out what her new powers really are...and exactly why they're creating so much havoc in her love life.

My opinion:
It’s a good book a story more than interesting but i had some difficulties to get into it…perhaps it’s because i’ve read book 1 some times ago already but let’s be honest this wouldn’t work as a stand alone at all….i would even recommend to read this series (or at least up to this point) back to back or you are going to feel lost and have the impression you are missing something important. I did remember book 1 in general but that wasn’t sufficient.

Now it was harder to get into the book yes but i still liked and i was surprised to learn so much about the witches and about the lustrata but also to discover fairies and how they were linked to the witches.  Persephone is starting to understand and accept her role but it’s still difficult to her, adding to that a romance complicates things. She is starting to accepts and act on her attractions to Johnny but Menessos is also on the line and it’s a strange love triangle even if we learn more about her relation to him now. What I regretted was to see her still judging people on appearances..; she did it with Johnny at first now she is judging Hunter…  also I found strange she to swear to obey someone when she is accepting to be the lustrate who should be above everyone to stay fair…those part bothered me
Now the story had action, lot of it, steamy scene but also sweet romance, different kinds of paranormal creatures which, as you probably know by now, I love. I will continue reading this story while avoiding to wait to long between books^^;; and I hope it can only get better. This book answers questions but still set stages for the next one so satisfying ending.

If you want a good paranormal, urban SERIES you could try this one but I can only recommend to read the books in orders and not to stop after the first one.

Short description from goodreads :

Trapped in the Ward mansion with a reluctant and standoffish host – a vampire she should be afraid of but can’t help being attracted to – Angelina is preparing herself for grim, lonely holidays.

When her parents unexpectedly decide to visit, the situation, far from improving, only grows more complicated. They look forward to visiting New York with her, but how can she explain that she’s unable to leave the mansion? For that matter, what will they say when they realize she lives with a millionaire?

A hastily concocted excuse smoothes things over, but now Angelina finds herself having to work closely with Morgan Ward. It wouldn’t be so bad if Morgan was as pleasant to her as he is to her parents, but his mercurial moods leave her confused and frustrated. It doesn’t help that he seems no closer to finding a way for her to leave his house.

The New Year brings change with a startling kiss and an even more surprising guest… or is it more of the same?

My opinion:
Fantastic! Kallysten manages to make me really addicted because each part is better than the last but also longer! (We got an addition of more than 20pages in comparatively to part 2!) The more the story goes the more I like it, I couldn’t stop reading this one, I was completely immersed in the story that start just where “ My reluctant Warden” left us and I loved to see Morgan opens himself, discover about his maker and see Angelina becoming herself and true to her feelings.

So Angelina is still in the impossibility to leave Morgan’s mansion which is causing a problem since it’s the end of the year and she was expected to spend the holidays with her family. Not an easy time of the year to feel prisoner but worse, her parents not happy to learn she can’t come home decide to visit her; once the panic is over she will need Morgan’s help to find a believable cover and story. I appreciate to see her calmer and thinking about the situation from Morgan point of view. She is not giving up but she is trying to cope the best way possible and slowly she sees new aspects of Morgan’s life and past, as a result she is falling for him and starting to accept that truth.

Morgan Ward is really a complex but honest man. Attracted and more to Angelina, he wants to make her stay more comfortable but doesn’t always know how to express himself. To help her to see her parents he accepts to offer them hospitality and organise their stay so she doesn’t have to lie too much to them while still keeping the truth secret. He even thinks about getting her the presents she wished despites a snow storm outside, that’s so thoughtful and cute. However,  for the first time he is letting  Angelina sees some aspects from his pasts, explaining to her his relation to Delilah and his “ mother”. He is not saying everything but at least he is not lying to her even if the truth can be harsh. He has become really protective of her and I loved how he helped when she was sick.
He even organises a party when he really abhors them just to give her an excuse and a cover for the fact she is living with him.

Their relationship is really more complex now and the fantasy and reality are not as well separated than before, what she has lived as fantasy influence her and he wants some of it too when he doesn’t hide his needs. We get a really hot first kiss, not a fantasy one, so the emotions are building, and both have to start to admit what they feel and want even if they are not ready to act on it.

I enjoyed to see her parents, the fact that we learn a little more about Stephen is also a plus, it was interesting to see how Stephen wants to protects Morgan and who the later one care about his butler.  Her mother is quite the gossip one while her father is more an observer calm but seeing everything while keeping quiet,  two opposite but that fit so well together.

Irene is still really mysterious, dangerous for sure she seems to want Morgan’s happiness but is it her real goal I wonder… and the “ Melody” person gains even more importance than in past  part but we still can only guess who she is and wonder what happened.

The only thing is that it ends on a little cliffhanger,  not a  important or a angsty one so I will manage to wait until part 4 in October without too much stress but I do want to continue the story and see more of Angelina and Morgan interactions.
It’s really a excellent serials if you love Vampires and romance so give it a try but read it in order or it would be really confusing. (and if you keep you eyes open you could get the precedent episodes free or in promotion really soon)

Spider’s Bite ( Elemental Assassin 1) by Jennifer Estep

Hello to all,

The heat is really tiring me down and it made me forget to post this yesterday . For those who love history and geography, Sunday, 21th july, was the national day in Belgium and this year was really special because our king Albert 2 decided to let the throne to his son Philippe on that day, it's something completely unusual in Belgium so it was synonym of huge party, more firework and such.
Not sure how i'm feeling about that i always appreciate Philippe and i think he will be a good king but at the same time i didn't want changement so i'm adjusting.

Now back to books topic, i will try to finish more books including witches sinces it's the main topic of this month but i also read a little other genre so the rest of the month should be interesting.

Today i'm introducing you to the first book in a series already well know "elemental assassin" by Jennifer Estep,  currently 8 books and several novellas , it's urban fantasy and i heard more than promising things about it, but i didn't get the books in order ^^ in fact i'm still having huge gaps so i was hesitant to start until i got all the books... but "Spider's bite", book 1, has witches in it so i couldn't wait longer and now that i've read it i'm even more impatient to get my hand on the missing titles on my list.

Happy Reading

Short description from goodreads :

My name is Gin, and I kill people.
They call me the Spider. I'm the most feared assassin in the South — when I'm not busy at the Pork Pit cooking up the best barbecue in Ashland. As a Stone elemental, I can hear everything from the whispers of the gravel beneath my feet to the vibrations of the soaring Appalachian Mountains above me. My Ice magic also comes in handy for making the occasional knife. But I don't use my powers on the job unless I absolutely have to. Call it professional pride.

Now that a ruthless Air elemental has double-crossed me and killed my handler, I'm out for revenge. And I'll exterminate anyone who gets in my way — good or bad. I may look hot, but I'm still one of the bad guys. Which is why I'm in trouble, since irresistibly rugged Detective Donovan Caine has agreed to help me. The last thing this coldhearted killer needs when I'm battling a magic more powerful than my own is a sexy distraction...especially when Donovan wants me dead just as much as the enemy.

My opinion:
Not the kind of character I’m used to but I could get addicted to this complex universe quite quickly, in fact the more I got into the book the better I liked it but this one was still quite dark and perhaps a little too much for my taste, at least for an introduction.

Jennifer Estep made a believable world where creatures having magic are not uncommon, they can be vampires, dwarves, humans, giants and perhaps they are others which aren’t cited yet. I admit I’m a little curious about the vampires in this world because it looks like they can have natural family, the author doesn’t speak of it like a change but like a born race…so I would love to get deeper and see the specificity of this version of vampires.

Now, the main character, Gin, is an assassin yes but you can’t said she is evil, in fact it would be more the opposite and it explain while the good cop, perhaps the only one in the city, is torn when she is concerned…there is what she has done yes but she is more and he doesn’t know exactly her reasons but inside he is sure there must be some. I really could feel his turmoil and Gin’s too because she could have told him but she wants to spare him…she admire his integrity and I guess she would have loved to stay as naïve and innocent as he can be. Her life has been difficult, worse even it started with a tragedy…Fletcher, owner and cook at the Pork Pit, saved her years ago and taught her to be a good assassin, like himself, before retiring but he still kee care of her, watch her back so when he is killed, it’s her new family that’s destroyed but now she can take revenge and she is determined to do so while protecting Finn, Fletcher’s son.

Speaking of Finn, he is a funny, though deadly, character. He doesn’t love to get his hands dirty and love the luxury, the expensive cars and clothes. However, despites his good look, his fortune he is still his father’s son and he is quite a good assistant for Gin, handling the research and having the contacts. I couldn’t help but smile at the way he was selecting the car he stole, really like he had all the time of the world and was in a specialised market for that^^. He likes to banter with Gin too, considering her like a sister (though it wasn’t the case in the past since they had a relationship). In danger and devastated by his father’s murder, Finn still manage to be effective and more important in my opinion… he IS loyal.

Donovan Caine is a cop and determined to catch or kill the spider for his partner’s murder.  He is proud of his honesty and do his job the best way he can however he can also be blind... he doesn’t see the corruption running in the police force, give the doubts first at his own risk etc . When he meets Gin, in fact when she saves his life, he is attracted yes but his integrity made him want to catch her, ignoring who she is.  When his life get in danger, because his integrity put him on the path on dangerous persons, he reluctantly accepts the truce and partnership Gin offers… Unfortunately for him, his attraction only grows and he discovers some of the assassin’s side he never envisioned.
I liked him but I find strange he didn’t went to ask Finn for information after Gin refused to answer..

The Plot in itself is really well constructed. I didn’t guess the reasons behind the double crossing or the way it was done and the part some of the secondary characters played in it. So I was immersed in the adventures…. But like I said it also dark and I really enjoyed the ending offering at least a little hope, some closure. While the case is solved, you also see glimpse of a new one so while it’s not completely a cliffhanger, you could want to start on book 2 right away too.

I would recommend this book to the fan of dark  urban fantasy who love investigation and lot of action.

Transforming Love (Koning Clan 1) by Debra Smith [review & giveaway]

Hello to all,

If you follow the blog, you know how mucjh i love shifters and paranormal romance, urban fantasy in general. I always appreciate to find author i didn't know and new series and this month i have been lucky.
I’ve discovered Debra thanks to Brenda and her review of the second book of this series and from the excerpt I was instantly caught, I wanted to read more so I ordered book 2 “ Escaping his Love” and it’s on the way.

However I couldn’t introduce you to the series without starting by book 1 titled “Transforming Love” so I asked Debra if I could have a copy for review which she kindly accepted, even better she will be offering to two persons who comment a digital copy of one her books so if you are tempted you could win this one or discover something else. It’s really generous of her don’t you think?  I will explain later what you need to do to win but until then here is my opinion on “Transforming Love” (you can read the fist chapters on her website here)

 Happy reading!

Short description from goodreads :

Jenny never expected her thirst for freedom to lead to her capture. Family secrets prevent her from running from the only man tempting enough to make her submit to her body's desires.

Gryph is dark, sexy, and determined to win Jenny in the Slag, a contest revered by his kind. As the leader of his Clan he's used to getting his way, until her. Can he give Jenny her freedom while winning her heart?

My opinion:
I have been quite surprised I admit, now I did read the first chapter on Debra’s website and I knew that I liked it, even if the first chapter of book two was my favourite, but I didn’t expect it to be so hot!... it’s even a euphemism, this is a novella that introduce us to her universe of shifters so a short read but full of more than steamy scenes. It’s really an erotic paranormal romance when I expected more a simple though a little steamy paranormal romance. “Transforming Love” really took me by surprise since those scenes arrive already in chapter two, but that one is really soft comparing to the rest, the first chapter didn’t let me expect anything like that.

The story is really fast paced so the novella is complete, no cliffhanger at all but perhaps a little too fast at some parts, I would have loved more. Now it’s not that the plot is not there or uninteresting but sometimes the erotic part takes over in a detrimental way, the balance isn’t mastered yet.
The universe is there, they are shifters in our world but are they living with us or in a scheduled part we don’t know. We don’t know exactly how things are done except that they are a special clan whose female have a special powers, for the rest you have different kinds of shifters clan: wolves, hyenas, jaguars to cite a few each clan has an alpha and all of them are rules by a queen and a king.  I was left hanging for some info on the characters but if we get some about Jenny, like her mother is dead and if she ignore all about the shifters it’s because her father tried to save her from her destiny and suppressed her powers thanks to a trinket. … not a lot true but in the circumstances pertained to how she was raised it’s understandable, she knows nearly nothing so we don’t but I would have liked to know for example if they left when her mother was alive or after and how she died but Debra perhaps has plan to answer that in a future novella or  a later books. So we discover Jenny as the shifters community discover her, a determined young woman who speaks her mind and dare to oppose males.

If for Jenny we have learned enough, I was disappointed with Gryph though, he is the leader of his clan and owner of a bar…that’s it. We can guess that Clint is his beta or second in command but it’s not really confirmed in this book so I would have loved more descriptions, more information. He is still a mystery in fact ( to be honest I got more on him reading the first chapter of book 2 than in the whole first book). I want to learn more about all the characters, their personality, how they come to be what they are etc.
The main idea though was something I really appreciate.

So in the end I only liked the book but I sincerely think it will only get better with each new book in the series, from what I have seen so you really could give it a try if you love really hot and steamy read, paranormal romance.
It’s only a introduction ( it would have been a really promising book if longer) and the author is improving so I can’t wait to receive my copy of book two “Escaping Love” to share my opinion with you and to learn more about the characters as well as discovering new ones (really read the first chapter and you will understand how excited I can be, you can see the improvement too)

Skinwalker ( Jane Yellowrock 1) by Faith Hunter

Hello to all,

Time is really flying, i didn't realize it was already so long since i posted a review. I guess i took too much pleasure gardening recently and it slipped my mind, i will try to do better.

So  i will stick with the monthly topic: witches but not only. Today i'm sharing with you my opinion on Shinwalker by Faith Hunter, a promising urban fantasy book first in the Jena Yellowrock series that i plan to continue soon.

Happy Reading!

Short description from goodreads :

First in a brand new series from the author of the rogue mage novels

Jane Yellowrock is the last of her kind-a skinwalker of Cherokee descent who can turn into any creature she desires and hunts vampires for a living. But now she's been hired by Katherine Fontaneau, one of the oldest vampires in New Orleans and the madam of Katie's Ladies, to hunt a powerful rogue vampire who's killing other vamps...

My opinion:
The beginning was a little too slow for me as we discover Jane and immediately after Beast, though we learn more about her later in the story she is still mysterious but she has grown on me.
There are several things I really liked in the story: first the main character’s background, I haven’t read a lot of book with  a Cherokee descent and I admit I’m curious about the language now, to know if  Faith Hunter knows it, just a few words or completely made it up ( which I doubt). The setting is also one I love more and more: Louisiana ..; I started to discover it with Royal Street and now after several books and a new author describing it I really want to see it with my own eyes even more now after I was told by Suzanne who lived there and have read this book that it was accurate.

Then there is Beast, Jane is a skinwalker so it’s a little like a shifter but with a larger range of possibilities. Jane can shift into any kind of animals or even birds, the only detail is that’s is more easy to pick a animal of the same mass as her and to have a fetish , like a bone, of said animal. However even that is not something  that can’t be changed like I said it’s just more easy but she take shift into smaller creature or larger one, just the risk is higher and it’s also possible for her to find the shape of some animals she got really used too even if she doesn’t have a fetish at hand.
That’s the basis but Beast is something more…it’s not just instinct speaking it’s a complete entity with a mind of her own one more animalistic true but more than just animal… we know she is a feline and it’s the same time she isn’t anymore. I don’t want to tell too much about her since it’s part of the story, but I can tell you I really loved her personality and the interactions she had with Jane. It’s something similar and at the same time completely different from the shifters I love so I needed a little time to grasp how it worked and understand Beast better now I just want to read more.

Jane is a vampire hunter; in a world were vampires live in the open while keeping a lot of secrets and mysteries. She doesn’t know a lot about them seeing them mostly as evil that must be destroyed but this time she is hired by the vampires council to take down a rogue… while investigating the murders and hunting the rogue she learns a great deal about vampires, their politics and structures which make her rethink her position a little, even more since she is more than a little attracted to Leo, one of the masters vampire.  She fears them but also hoped they got answers about her origin and past since she has forgotten all her childhood… they don’t know what she is, don’t recognize it but things happen restoring parts of her memories and due to the power of their enemy Beast also accept to share some really interesting details…. Even if I think I have now more question than answers.

The investigations takes times and I never guessed the culprit until the end so it was really good but the murder’s descriptions are quite violent so it’s not for young readers at all. The culprit is found but at the same time, things are resolved and they get even more complicated so it’s an open ending that make you want for more and in this case I can’t wait to meet Molly, her witch best friend, and her children. In this book they intervened thanks to flashback and phone call so we didn’t meet them completely but they look funny and it would be interesting to see how they will react with vampires.

So if you want a good book, despite the slow beginning, with vampires, witches, shapeshifters ( and later were and others since they exist in this universe) with action, violence but also humour and just traces of romance so far Skinwalker is for you! Even more if you wish for some Native American in your reading!  To recommend!

Under Suspicion (Underworld Detection Agency 3) by Hannah Jayne

Hello to all,

it's a wonderfully sunny and warm weekend , for the first time i'm really feeling like it's the summer and i enjoy that. So i already did a bit of reading and i will continue but i will give a little priority to outdoor activity ( barbecue and collecting my currants) to keep my spirits up. However i couldn't start thyat without sharing a little with you at least.

French reader got the first review this month but you are getting yours too....the topic of july for the paranormal romance challenge is witch and/or wizard so i will try to read those including them first....and i start with a series that i love, even if this book wasn't up to my expectations...

Happy reading i hope you will have a fabulous time too.

Short description from goodreads :

She's the new head of the Underworld Detection Agency's strangest division. What a nightmare. . .Being a human immune to magic helped Sophie Lawson get promoted. It's also made her a major, very reluctant player in a game that stretches beyond even the Underworld. Having handsome buttoned-down Englishman Will as her new guardian is one tempting blessing, especially since sexy fallen angel Alex is mysteriously MIA lately. But as a frightening number of demons start disappearing around the city, Sophie suspects that an Armageddon-level prophecy is about to become everyone's nightmare. And her investigation is testing her bravery--and Will's unexpected vulnerability--in ways neither could predict. Now Sophie and Will are fast running out of time as an unstoppable evil prepares to lay waste to demons and humans alike. .

My opinion:
I liked this book but something is missing in my opinion.  The writing style is better than in the precedent book, the rhythm of action is just what it should be but  there is a mix of things that don’t add up to me.
So in this book we still have several kind of paranormal creatures, demon but mostly we have vampires, witches, and a banshee and a centaur as well as a werewolf., other are cited but those are the one we meet several of them, see them in action or that have a key role in this investigation (victims are important after all^^)

What I liked less is the behaviour of Sophie who goes from a guy to the other one, oki she isn’t with Alex anymore but she is not completely over him either so the triangle with Will doesn’t really make sense in my opinion. Suddenly she got feeling she didn’t have? Not likely. It’s not how she was described in the precedent books so such a big change of personality annoys me.

Now speaking about the investigation, it’s well done even if I did guess who the culprit was, it takes you along and you enjoy how determined Sophie is. What was strange is the reaction of Dixon, he is no looking into it , he isn’t interested , worse he take her files away and she doesn’t trust him , though she keep loosing her mind when she meets him. I could see it as “keep your friend near and your enemies nearer” ,yes she has a job but he can keep tabs on her that way. Like Sophie I think he is onto something strange even if we still don’t know a lot of thing about that. We do have some info about acquaintances of him who are demon hunter and more especially hunters of werewolves. Not really sure it’s something that come with his position but that’s not the main topic of this book, just hint for later in the series.
What seemed strange to me is the lack of interest of the others characters.. Nina is all in love, Alex is busy somewhere else, Vlad doesn’t care until Vamps are in danger. Only Sophie knows something isn’t right….but at the same time no one believe her and everyone avoid her… so either they believe or not but they can’t do both.In last book, several” clients” asked for her and were sad when she was sacked now they would be happy if se was… what has changed….

Sometimes I get the impression Hannah Jayne wants to do too much, start an idea and jump to another without concluding the first one…..it’s the first time I got such a strong impression with this series and I’m a little afraid to see where it will go. Add to that the fact it ends with a cliffhanger and you see why I just liked this book and nothing more. Fortunately I do have book 4 already so I will know shortly if it improve or if I lost interest in this series for a moment.

Not a bad book if you love urban fantasy and suspense, investigation but this book doesn’t shine like others still I think it’s putting important step and tips for the main plot so if you are a fan of this series it’s a must have.
