Werewolf's Surrogate by Mia Wolf

Hello to all !

A  new year has started and so far it's a busy one but good one...On the reading side it's also going well and no big disappointment so i'm an happy girl.
Today i'm sharing with you my opinion on a new release " Werewolf's Surrogate" by Mia Wolf.

Happy Reading!
Publisher: Amazon
Publication: 2019
Genre: paranormal romance
Violence: strong

Language: mild
sex: very steamy/strong
Source: earc

 Description from goodreads :

What do you do when the heat is unbearable, but your heart isn’t ready?

Rex is the Alpha of Wolf Mountain and the biggest party animal in town. Being hit by his huge claws means being out of commission forever.

But Rex is in trouble. The Elders want him to have a family to secure the pack’s future. And Rex doesn’t want a mate. Luckily, a surrogate by the name of Felicity is the perfect solution.

She’s definitely not his type. And he definitely doesn’t feel completely awkward around her. Definitely not.

Felicity is out of money and has nowhere to go. So when she’s offered a large sum to carry someone’s baby, she says yes. The only drawback is that she has to stay at a mysterious manor with the baby’s father. Which is fine.

Except that the guy radiates arrogance and unfortunately looks like the cover model for a romance novel. His forearms are deliciously muscled and veiny and … Stop! She’s SO not going to drool over him.

But there are secrets at Rex’s manor. And Felicity isn’t safe here.

When an old rival takes everything away from him, can Rex’s primal instinct protect all he has left? With the baby growing in her, can Felicity deny her maternal instinct? And can Rex and Felicity stand the unbearable heat between them?

This story contains mature content and is intended for 18+ readers only

My opinion:
It was a good read but i didn't  end up completely satisfied..... it's a bit hard to explain. We do get to learn of Felicity 's past which explain a lot why she accepts so quickly the idea of being a surrogate then i was a bit lost with secondary characters...we understand she was roommate with Mary who threw her out but that she has a friend named Angie, who is really kind and protective of her. Then when she speaks of what she could do later the friend name is Mary......to me it sounded completely strange i would have expected Angie or a friend we never heard of but same name as roommate...it may be a detail but it completely cut me from immersing completely in the story.

That put aside it's a really good story, it was fun to see Rex and Felicity start slowly to communicate and care about each other. They are both so different and at the same time have a lot in common.  Rex may be alpha but  he is an hurt alpha. The disappearance of his brother hurt him more than he can show and he closed on himself...seeing him with Felicity was sometimes seeing a teenager 'act  as Rex discover himself at the same time his relationship is developing.

Part of me fear trouble ahead with the boys not adjusting well in the end but for Felicity and Rex this story has an happy ending so i was happy. It was a good but quick read.

Skin Deep ( Laura Blackstone 1) by Mark Del Franco

Happy New Year!!!!
I wish you all the best for 2019!!

End of 2018 was hard on me so i'm kind of glad to start a new year and hope for the best!

At least on the reading part it seems promising with the first book i picked from my pile " Skin Deep" by Mark Del Marco which was a new author  for me. I won't say it was an easy read so i'm glad i read it on my day off^^ but i would definitively want more now that i have a better insight on the complex world the author created.

So let's start this year with the first book in the Laura Blackstone serie: "Skin Deep"

Happy reading!!!
Publisher: Ace

Description from goodreads :

A THRILLING NEW URBAN FANTASY SERIES FROM THE AUTHOR OF UNFALLEN DEAD AND UNQUIET DREAMS.

She'll need to keep up appearances—if she wants to stay alive...

Being an undercover agent has its occupational hazards, but Laura Blackstone makes it look easy. As a spy for a fey intelligence agency, she uses her magical abilities to create disguises that are skin deep glamours that must never be compromised. But when Laura's worlds collide she'll have more to worry about than retiring an identity; she may just lose her life.

My opinion:
Hard beginning for sure as we get introduced to many characters right at the beginning, some being the same one in fact, so this can lead to some confusion
However, the more you read the more you get immersed as the mystery and intrigue are really well woven and you can't stop reading to discover what lies behind all the events.

The rhythm is perfect , there are dark moments but perfectly balanced with the touch of humour and little bit of flirting from Sinclair , Saffin is a secondary character we come to really love and Terryn is one i want to learn more about ( like how he met Cress for example). We learn a lot about several kinds of fae.

It's definitively a series i want to continue reading but one that must be read at moment when interruptions are not likely to happen.
