Werewolf's Surrogate by Mia Wolf

Hello to all !

A  new year has started and so far it's a busy one but good one...On the reading side it's also going well and no big disappointment so i'm an happy girl.
Today i'm sharing with you my opinion on a new release " Werewolf's Surrogate" by Mia Wolf.

Happy Reading!
Publisher: Amazon
Publication: 2019
Genre: paranormal romance
Violence: strong

Language: mild
sex: very steamy/strong
Source: earc

 Description from goodreads :

What do you do when the heat is unbearable, but your heart isn’t ready?

Rex is the Alpha of Wolf Mountain and the biggest party animal in town. Being hit by his huge claws means being out of commission forever.

But Rex is in trouble. The Elders want him to have a family to secure the pack’s future. And Rex doesn’t want a mate. Luckily, a surrogate by the name of Felicity is the perfect solution.

She’s definitely not his type. And he definitely doesn’t feel completely awkward around her. Definitely not.

Felicity is out of money and has nowhere to go. So when she’s offered a large sum to carry someone’s baby, she says yes. The only drawback is that she has to stay at a mysterious manor with the baby’s father. Which is fine.

Except that the guy radiates arrogance and unfortunately looks like the cover model for a romance novel. His forearms are deliciously muscled and veiny and … Stop! She’s SO not going to drool over him.

But there are secrets at Rex’s manor. And Felicity isn’t safe here.

When an old rival takes everything away from him, can Rex’s primal instinct protect all he has left? With the baby growing in her, can Felicity deny her maternal instinct? And can Rex and Felicity stand the unbearable heat between them?

This story contains mature content and is intended for 18+ readers only

My opinion:
It was a good read but i didn't  end up completely satisfied..... it's a bit hard to explain. We do get to learn of Felicity 's past which explain a lot why she accepts so quickly the idea of being a surrogate then i was a bit lost with secondary characters...we understand she was roommate with Mary who threw her out but that she has a friend named Angie, who is really kind and protective of her. Then when she speaks of what she could do later the friend name is Mary......to me it sounded completely strange i would have expected Angie or a friend we never heard of but same name as roommate...it may be a detail but it completely cut me from immersing completely in the story.

That put aside it's a really good story, it was fun to see Rex and Felicity start slowly to communicate and care about each other. They are both so different and at the same time have a lot in common.  Rex may be alpha but  he is an hurt alpha. The disappearance of his brother hurt him more than he can show and he closed on himself...seeing him with Felicity was sometimes seeing a teenager 'act  as Rex discover himself at the same time his relationship is developing.

Part of me fear trouble ahead with the boys not adjusting well in the end but for Felicity and Rex this story has an happy ending so i was happy. It was a good but quick read.

Moon Cursed (Reluctant Werewolf Chronicles1) by Tori Centanni

Hello to all,

Today, i'm sharing with you my opinion on a new release, first in a new series, Moon Cursed by Tori Centanni.
I must confess that i nearly gave up on this book as the heroine really got on my nerves so i had to take a break but i'm glad i continued as the story in itself is quite good and the book got a lot better as it progressed....but let see that in more details:

Happy Reading

Publisher: Bad Blood Books
Publication: 2018
Genre: urban fantasy
Violence: strong
Language: mild
sex: none ( allusion LGTB)
Public: 18+

Description from goodreads :

My name is Charlotte Lear and I didn’t want to be a werewolf. But thanks to circumstances totally beyond my control — okay, mostly — that’s what I am. Now every month the Full Moon turns me into a hairy, angry, smelly wolf and all I can do is make sure I’m contained so I can’t hurt anyone else.

I’m trying my best to live a normal life (well, as normal as possible when you’re a werewolf and your best friend is dating a vampire). But when the wolf who turned me insists I go to a mandatory wolf pack meeting, everything changes. Before I know it, a group of militant monster hunters armed with silver bullets have me in their sights.

With the help of an annoyingly dogged (but admittedly kind of sexy) werewolf named Raff, I have to stop the hunters before they kill me and every other werewolf they can find.

Moon Cursed is book one of The Reluctant Werewolf Chronicles, a humorous urban fantasy series with lots of suspense and a little bit of romance.

My opinion:
Hard...really it wasn't easy to get into the story at first as i really disliked Charlie...she is really immature and  so annoying that she got on my nerves. However , if you can read  through these first chapters until the story and investigation really starts  you won't close the book after until it's finished but yes you need to go over the first chapters first.

Charlotte, aka Charlie, is intelligent, she can really be focused on her goals and when she wants something she goes to big end to have it....it could be an advantage but the way she is it's also the opposite as she get too close minded as a result. She wanted to become a vampire....so she studied them in great length, managed to find some real ones and their address when it's not a well know fact they exist to start with....she put years in this project and  for that i can admire her. Now when things don't go as planned and she becomes a werewolf...she doesn't study it, she isn't trying to understand no she just flatly refuse it, shackles herself, refuse to meet other werewolves and keep thinking they are all mindless beast.....
After spending so much time on vampires i can see why she got disappointed but really 3years and more of this childish behaviour? really? complaining all the time, being jealous of her best friend because he could still become one....not even trying to research a little what she has become? For me that was too stupid and childish!
Later in the story we learn a bit more about her reason but still it was hard to warm up to her.

Raff is the opposite, it was hard not to get attached to him, he is courageous, funny and quite patience to cope with Charlie. I really loved him and Michael is an excellent friend as  well.

I really loved when the story really started with attempted murder on Charlie and other cases, the way she is put in the middle and doesn't have time to really overthink made it very interesting as she is discovering by force what she never wanted to see ( and how wrong she was).....the investigation is fast and we can imagine the next trouble that will arise which make it even more tempting to jump already on the next book ( but not available yet so patience it's needed)

There is a little humour yes but also dark moment and lots of actions. There is the presence of some Lgtb allusions ( Damien and Michael, Jessica and her girlfriend) but as it wasn't the focus on the story and just allusion it didn't bother me.

all together i did enjoy it and i'm very curious to see how the author will process for the rest of the series and see if Charlie will mature a little.

Score:  3/5

Big Bad Bite ( Big Bad Bite1) by Jessie Lane

Hi to all!!

Since i was absent last week ( hey it was my birthday and i didn't really had time for me so for the blog even less sadly) i decided not to wait and to introduce you to the second series i'm giving you my opinion on: The Big Bad Bite series by Jessie Lane. it's not a new series and i've been wanting to try it for quite a moment ( even got book 1 in my pile) but  forgot about it however a new release will be out soon so it's time to get back to track so here is my opinion on book 1.

Happy reading!
Publisher: Whiskey Girls Publishing
Publication: 2013
ISBN:  0373277210
Genre: paranormal romance, shifters, werewolves
Violence: mild

Language: mild
sex: steamy
Public: 18+
Source: bought

Description from goodreads :

The first book in the best-selling Big Bad Bite Series!

What would it be like to live in a world where you were considered abnormal even to those who were above the norm?

Jenna O’Conner is not human, nor is she considered the norm for the supernatural Other community. It’s important she hide her true nature from both humans and Others.

Right after moving to a new city, Jenna runs into trouble in the form of a deadly, mouthwatering man named Adam McPhee. He’s an alpha werewolf determined to do two things: figure out exactly what Jenna is and have her all to himself.

As if that weren’t enough for Jenna to deal with, a group of extremist Shifters who consider humans to be cattle and who think that factions of Others should stay within their own species—never to intermingle—come to town. Jenna has to find a way to shut them down, but in the process of trying to do that, she discovers things about herself that even she had never thought were possible.
Who said the wolf was what you had to worry about?
Welcome to the real world—the Other world.

Contains mature themes.

My opinion:

Interesting....while i didn't like the main female character and didn't really warm up to her i really enjoyed the universe and some secondary characters making me want to read more but let see that in more detail.

Adam is an alpha wolf, from what we can gather he did have difficulties while growing up because his wolf is really strong and present which isn't well accepted. However, despite all that he is a very loyal and caring leader and as we discover a quite patient mate to be, very tolerant and accepting . Really it wasn't hard to come to love him and support him even if i regret the fact we didn't get more insights on his childhood but hopefully we could still learn more in the rest of the serie.

Jenna is the opposite...she isn't bad per say but having spent her life sheltered she is ignorant of a lot of things regarding shifters and she  is definitively too self centered for my taste. I get that she wants to be independent, to prove herself etc but she is so selfish at time that i wanted to shake or strangle her. She may be powerful but she doesn't look for others than herself.  While at first she doesn't understand why Adam is reacting as he is and could be confused while she does learn the reason she acts like it's nothing, no matter the risk for others, risk she perfectly understand. No, trust issues aside that's what she wants when she wants....she must have gotten that from her mother but definitively can't like her at this point even  if she does act at the end.

Secondary characters...there you have so many that's it's not hard to find at least one you want to support  and learn more about him or her. Kent, the demon is funny. he is a police officer and was surprisingly good to Jenna. he sure made me curious. That being said i think i want more of the tigers though.... that family is fascinating and funny despite being highly dangerous and still quite mysterious. There is Alec, not sure what his real job is but he fight in underground battle which help him to be well informed. Then it's Gage....we know little except that he is fiercely protective of his family ( even Alec while they bicker all the time) and that he must be in some kind of elite army/ security shifter agency....all top secret of course but with a lot of interesting toys or electronics to be successful in highly dangerous mission..... i so want to learn more about him. Then you have the sister lulu, we only hear about her so far, and  even better the Russian grandma.....oh that one will make you smile for sure

I also found quite funny that if some groups are trying to impose to shifters to stay with their own ( wolves with wolves, tiger with tigers etc, etc) not mixing between shifters of different origin or worse with other paranormal. Both pack masters we learn about did the opposite, once with a demon, then with a tiger... It's promising some sparks. There are still so much to learn about this world but at the same time nothing is missing preventing us to enjoy this story fully so it's really well done.

There is a small cliffhanger but nothing major  we do get the essential for this story to be happy and it just make us impatient to read book two ( with tigers!!!!!). There is a major main plot taking place along the whole series so that isn't solved yet of course but  each book has it's own story which feel complete so it was really no problem for me.

If you want a good paranormal romance you can try this one

Dirty magic (The Prospero’s War 1) by Jaye Wells

Hello to all!

It's not that often that i can read a recent release so when i win one i'm really delighted....Dirty Magic's blurb really caught my interest so when i finally could hold it i was jumping everywhere.  I should learn to be more patient but the Ides of March read-a-thon was the perfect excuse to start reading it  without more wait.

Another reason i didn't wait any longer to satify my curiosity is that this book fit perfectly the witches and witchcrafts challenge so it was simply fitting even if it wasn't the expected result i hoped for.

Happy Reading

Short description from goodreads :

The first in an all-new urban fantasy series by USA Today bestseller Jaye Wells.

The last thing patrol cop Kate Prospero expected to find on her nightly rounds was a werewolf covered in the blood of his latest victim. But then, she also didn't expect that shooting him would land her in the crosshairs of a Magic Enforcement Agency task force, who wants to know why she killed their lead snitch.

The more Prospero learns about the dangerous new potion the MEA is investigating, the more she's convinced that earning a spot on their task force is the career break she's been wanting. But getting the assignment proves much easier than solving the case. Especially once the investigation reveals their lead suspect is the man she walked away from ten years earlier—on the same day she swore she'd never use dirty magic again.

Kate Prospero's about to learn the hard way that crossing a wizard will always get you burned, and that when it comes to magic, you should be never say never.

My opinion:
This book has some potential but it wasn’t as good as I hoped it could be. The beginning is quite slow and really confusing, at first I really couldn’t imagine the setting and thus it was hard to get immersed in the story. Same, Kate Prospero is a cop taking care of her brother and she has magic (so she is what is called an Adept in that universe) but because of her past she is quite against everything magical…said like that is seems simple but for the first chapters you don’t understand well her reluctance to magic use as you don’t really understand the difference between the different “brand” of magic…. All you can grasp is that magic is a really important element in that world and found everywhere… I admit I felt lost and thus rapidly bored.

Now if you manage to read past those first chapters, things improve, we finally get more information, not  on everything for example I’m still hesitant about the “covens” since I really don’t know how they works but since it‘s not a major part in this story it can be put aside. Kate is showing more nerves and we finally can understand her stand and view on magic and on the city. I loved how protective of her sibling she was it should how responsible she is. I did regret she only had Pen as a friend and that she couldn’t even tell her everything.
The MEA team is really funny and I really liked Morales and Mez both are really attentive to their team mates and Kate needs this feeling of belonging more than she admit it…. It’s also one of the reason I’m disappointed….Kate can’t fully trust them and I really regret that, romance between Morales and her aside (would be great and only sparks of it so far), I believe in trust and honesty… fort the team to be at it best they need to trust each other and it’s not the case..; could happen because it takes time but I would have liked if at least one had her back. She has some talents but can’t use them worse she is forbidden too even if it could save life that part I don’t understand and I hope it will change.

I wasn’t fond of her brother Danny and to be honest all that part with him was far too predictable in my opinion … I guess I can understand him a little but I find him way too ungrateful. Next we have the ex lover…  John Volos… I don’t trust him at all…during a few pages I thought that could change that I would perhaps like him at least a little but what he did at the end destroyed that completely. He is too arrogant and loves using others as puppet, threatening and Kate fell for it once again like she never grew up ….

So lot of negative elements but some positive as well and the universe could really become one really interesting and intriguing thus I’m definitively planning to try the second book when it release later this year and I hope it will only get better. For an urban fantasy series it’s promising but can be improved.

Score:   Between 2,5 and 3/5

Wolfborn by Sue Bursztynski

Good evening!

The story of how i come across this book is one that i remember fondly so i will share it with you before my opinion on the book.  I discovered the other during a blog hop and I found her really kind, she is a teacher and love to promote reading to the children and it’s something I really appreciate so I decided to follow her.

Later to answer some reader’s inquiry about book translation she gave us a little excerpt with its translation in several languages, French included. However since it’s my native language I immediately saw it wasn’t a proper translation at all (it didn’t made sense) I wanted to tell her, explain and translate it properly but at the same time I was terrified to hurt her feelings or something… still trying to be the most polite about it possible I explained what didn’t work and offered my translation….she answered me and she wasn’t angry at all quite the opposite, relieved I was even more interested in her book after that. I had entered a contest to win it without success when months later, there was a new one. Determined I tried again and I won! Fabulous, no? But what is even better is that …she remembered me!!! She really did and I got a really personalised email that made jump everywhere with joy.

I received my book from Australia later and I was exalted however I couldn’t read it then…. You see I wanted to be objective about it and since I was so happy about how I got it and the kindness of the author Sue I was afraid I would be biased if I read it immediately or worse I could be disappointed after too high expectations so I put it on my night table looking at it longing… then I decided the best way to be right and still promote it at the best of my abilities was to review it during a challenge so I could get others interested….so here we are during the shifter month ( I waited all year for it;) ) and I’m so happy  to share this with you -I will more than probably do a post in French too but this one being long already it will stay unilingual for now-

Happy Reading

Short description from goodreads :

Break the curse or howl forever.

Etienne, son of a lord in the kingdom of Armorique, goes to train as a knight with Geraint of Lucanne. Geraint is brave and kind, a good teacher and master - but he has a secret that he has kept from his family. He is bisclavret, a born werewolf. When Geraint is betrayed, Etienne must ally with the local wise-woman and her daughter, themselves bisclavret, to save his lord. But time is running out. If Geraint's enemies have their way, Geraint will soon be trapped in his wolf form.

And Etienne has his own secret. The decisions he makes will change his life forever . . .

Inspired by a medieval romance, this engaging novel forces us to question everything we thought we knew about werewolves.

My opinion:
Oh why I didn’t read this before?!  Yes I wanted to read this when shifters were the topic to help it promote better but It’s so good I can’t wait I managed to wait so long.  Really one started I couldn’t put it done and a few hours later I was babbling about it to my mother, explaining with such enthusiasm she made me sit…. Now I must write what I felt and thought and it’s more difficult because I do want to do justice to the story without any spoiler if I can manage.

First, I must precise it’s a retelling of a really old tale with of course the author‘s ideas original and wonderfully written. In fact, if you just pick the book without any prior research you don’t even feel it’s a retelling since Sue offer us a complex universe she made her own. Now after thinking about it, after learning how she came to write this and some info on the “original” tale she was inspired by, I think writing a retelling must be even harder than writing a book.  Why? Because when you create your own universe you are free to set the rules you want, you want magic or not, speaking werewolves or not it’s nearly complete liberty. If you are doing a retelling, you got some free license of course, to make it entertaining you must capture the feel of the story and make it your own all the while staying true and not betraying the original tales…. That’s a hard work to find that balance, in my opinion. Really in this case the result is splendid.

They are werewolves like the title and cover let you guess but here there is some specificity I enjoyed a lot.  You get 2 or even 3 kind of shifters to be precise. You have the “Bisclavret”, who are the true werewolves, those who are born like and are considered like the children of Kernun, a male God of the hunt and other things. The history said they were wolves who won the right or gift to shift in human form and lives between normal people. They can shift when they want, the moon has nothing to do with that (by the way they got 3 moons in that universe^^) but they must do it regularly because it’s something they enjoy.( in a sense they revert to their original form which must feel good).  To shift back to human form they must have their own clothes.
Bisclavret have become rare, only a few of them is left.

Now I guess I should precise that werewolves there isn’t something bad in itself, lot of countries in this world accept them as long as they behave, only some part hunt them but only because of fear and religious beliefs. Why religion? Because of the second kind of werewolves those who are called werewolves…they became like that for making a pact with black magic, bad deities thus are a little see as demons and those religious ones don’t make the difference. For them all man becoming a wolf is a bad one. However in the part were the pagan beliefs stay strong it’s not the same because they know there is also a third kind…if a werewolf has children they will be like him even if they never made any pact with the devil and thus they judge on the acts not on the fact they change into a wolf…..sadly if one misbehave he is killed.

It’s a world a little like our medieval one, but with magic really alive. Fae are wondering among people sometimes, the traditional celebrations are still alive while the religious ( the Nozrians) would like to see it gone but it survived, in a lighter version that they were perhaps but people still believe. It was really easy to get immersed in it and the way the paranormal, fantasy is used to convey message is something I really enjoy , if a younger one could read this book and understand how you must accept other not judge them on their looks or on what he was told he would be fabulous.

In this story we discover a knight Sir Geraint, a well loved one, respected by his people; the only detail is that he is a bisclavret and kept that secret even from his wife. Etienne is a young boy and like it’s was the use in medieval time young lads from nobility were sent away to complete their education as a knight….Etienne is terrified to become a wolf after his mother told him some of his ancestor was one. He gets fostered at Geraint household start as a page. It doesn’t take him long to see the strange behaviour of his master and how is wife is attracted to another visiting noble however when he learns the truth he won’t fear it and he is attracted to Jeanne, another bisclavret even before knowing who and what she is. When Geraint is lost, prisoner of his wolf form, Etienne stays loyal to him and he will do all he can to help saving him. This is a story of acceptance and courage, how Etienne discovers more about himself and the world, with a sweet romance and a lot of magic and adventure. We see how fear can lead to disastrous decision, how envy and greed can destroy more than it looks…. And so much more

It’s definitively I book I recommend and as soon as it gets translated in French I would definitively ask teacher to use it because it really a fabulous story and still instil some moral and teenagers often learn more in indirect ways^^. You love fantasy, fae, legend action and romance TRY THIS BOOK! You won’t regret it

Primal Law (Alpha Pack1) by JD Tyler

Hello to all,

Are you ready for Halloween? All the decorations are up? To be honest, in my case we still haven't started pulling them out of the box ^^;; and i have been spending as much time as possible reading with the result i have difficulties to decide which review to offer you each day  i will perhaps even have to put two on a same day who knows.... i guess it will make your wish list reach a new level if you hadn't read those first.

First i wanted to tell you about Kallysten new release but it will be free later this week so i will wait until then....then i tried to find a book that could be linked to Brenda's today topic in her big event The Ghoulishly Good Monster Mash Mix up. I have started a book from her selection and i do hope to finish it on time but right now it's not possible so which book could work?  It was a tie between one with a shaman but it's so good i will keep it for halloween  then a book i did also read this month because it was featured on her werewolves day and in my TBR pile... that one works really well because it's about shifters yes but you got a necromencer too and some ghosts in bonus so really a perfect book for this month and several of the challenges i've entered...sadly it's the book i least liked this month so far...anyway it could be your favourite one so let's see what i thought of it and why.

Happy reading!

Short description from goodreads :

Founded by a group of former Navy SEALS, the Alpha Pack is a top-secret team of wolf shifters with Psy powers tasked with eliminating the most dangerous predators in the world. But the gift of their abilities comes at a price…

After a massacre decimates half his team and leaves him crippled, Jaxon Law must relearn how to fight—and battle the anger and guilt threatening to overwhelm him. But when he rescues a beautiful woman who reawakens his primal instincts, Jax is unprepared for the dangers that lie ahead.

On the run from her employer, brilliant lab assistant Kira Locke has evidence that leads the Alpha Pack on a hunt for someone targeting human civilians with Psy abilities. And as Jax and Kira circle both the killer and each other, Jax will have to decide if the deep connection he feels with Kira is worth breaking the ultimate shifter rule—because bonding with Kira means putting his abilities at risk, and they might be the only tools he has to keep his mate alive…

My opinion:
The premise of the story is interesting I mean shifters with psychic abilities a novelty for me and I was expecting perhaps too much from this one because yes there are shifters but it missed to catch my interest and I’m angrier after finishing it that anything else.

First yes it’s about shifters and we learn in the book that it won’t be only werewolves even if in this first book we first focus on the first member of the alpha team some seals who got bitten and if they survived became werewolves, then we also meet one (two but let concentrate on the most active one) born shifter Nick, their chief. So far it stay classic I mean they are shifters and you can be born or become one because of a scratch or a bite, even while in animal form they still keep their human minds too. So far so good.

However the fact they are ex- SEAL’s is bothering me on some levels…as soon as Jax , the main hero in this first book, explains how they got bitten it ticked my instinct I mean it’s so suspect but they never suspected something no. They got bitten, some survived and then they live in a military complex with doctors they are conducting highly dangerous mission while people still study them. I mean how can they be so blind? Why werewolves would attack a group of armed humans outnumbering them …. Yes some died but then why not make sure the injured ones are dead? It sounded so strange to me I started to be angry. Yes they were in the army and not used to ask question but after such an event you think they would want to be free, to hide but no they accept to be studied… officially to help but really  you think such an amount of money would be spend just to help them without hidden intentions?
What was even more curious is that Nick a born shifter, not in the army joined their group like that accepting to be subjected to the tests etc while he could have stayed hidden…. Really strange yes he is a preco, so perhaps his powers lead him to join the team that I could eventually accept but the way they trust the system blindly is more than irritating even more since later we learn they never even asked question, never thought about what happened … just followed the movement.

Then they were betrayed and lost a part of their team leaving some like Jax suffering from serious injuries …once again we learn they didn’t question anything and until some of the events happen and more specially Kira as a outside ask question we discover they just believed what they were told without looking for a proof or anything….when we learn they are supposedly professional and strongly linked together it’s even stranger.

I appreciated the fact they didn’t utilise their specific power without thinking about the consequences but then it went in the extreme too.

Now if we focus on the main plot and the romance between Kira and Jax, I was surprised to learn that Nick didn’t explain all the consequences of refusing to mate one soulmate….we can guess he lived something tragic but that’s no excuse in my opinion. First we are not sure who is giving the orders, yes Nick is the chief of the team but he is not at the top, he receives his orders from someone so we don’t know which level of free will they really have… if they can refuse a mission  etc……I regret they didn’t seem to have learned from the past, to have better strategy and how they didn’t guess what was happening at the end they really had everything to at least make solid supposition… they just went to save those who could be there ( yes could they weren’t even sure)…I understand self sacrifice but it works once not that often or it become stupidity. Also another thing didn’t sit well with me… it’s a secret group…they have strong ties to each other…but then they include other way too easily I mean oki Kalen has powers and needed a place but just like that we meet and the next day we offer you a place…AJ also, welcome to the group in matter of second…. Where is the secret and the security if everyone can join so easily.

The romance is there with highly steamy part but it felt wrong… she doesn’t want to mate without love but then having sex is oki… it went too quickly to my taste, even with a countdown , they are some steps but no directly in the other bed, little gesture, romance all forgotten…. Yes he is partly animal but even it could have been handled differently.  Oh I appreciated the fact he didn’t want to force a choice on Kira, accepting the consequences no matter what she chose but  he suffers from Beryl’s betrayal, refuse to admit she is his mate but having fun with her is not a problem….
Kira is a kind soul and surprise! She has power too….she is an empathy but she realise it only when she joined the team. Yes it sound something really important for the rest of the story but I guess I was put off by the fact she didn’t thought about it before and  that it took her so long to confess it after.

Add to all of that the fact the end is a cliffhanger and not really an happy one and you have the perfect recipe to make me disappointed and worse…I will give a try to at least another book in the series to see if it improves for me but right now I wouldn’t recommend it . They are so many excellent series with werewolves and shifters that I really prefer so it wouldn’t be fair or honest if I told you to get this one when I think others are really better. Now perhaps you love shifters book, with paranoia, conspirations, tragedy etc in that case this book is right in your alley but I do prefer when I finish a book to get a feeling of contentment than anger
