Today i'm giving you my opinion on a holidays romance, a novella in a sport romance series by Kat Latham that i've been wanting to read for quite a moment now so when i got the opportunity to review this novella i didn't hesitate and i'm so happy i jumped at the chance.

Happy reading!

Description from goodreads :

’Twas a week before Christmas, and at the auction house…

At six foot one, Gwen Chambers has felt like a giant her whole life. She’s a calm, capable nurse saving lives in a busy London hospital, but healthy men give her heart palpitations. When larger-than-life rugby player “Little” John Sheldon convinces her to bid on him in his team’s fundraising auction, she discovers how pleasurable heart palpitations can be.

A rugby player was stirring, with desire no one could douse…

John has wanted Gwen since he first saw her, but when he’s injured in a match just before Christmas he suddenly needs her too. Not only can the sexy nurse help him recover, but she might be able to help him look after his daughter—a shy ten-year-old who speaks only French.

But will it be a Happy Christmas for all, and for all a good night?
From decorating the Christmas tree to ice skating at the Tower of London, Gwen helps father and daughter open up and bond with each other—and she bonds right along with them. But when John’s agent calls with a life-changing offer, Gwen has to decide how far she’s willing to go for her perfect match. Will their first Noël also be their last?

My opinion:
A wonderful insight in the series, an appetizer for the new readers and a sweet treat for the already fan of the series.
Kat Latham makes a good job of giving enough information so we can immediately settle in the story of  John and Gwen. Those two are simply perfect for each other but a little clumsy about their feeling .  I loved to see them learning about each other and their feeling, i also realy loved how Gwen was with John’s daugther.

It’s a really good  novella wih the magic of Christmas feeling  in the background and it made me want to read the complete series as soon as possible because i loved the group even if we only saw a few of  John’s teammates they won me over. I also hope it will give some explanation about John’s past because that side is a little left out , we know how he met  his daughter’s mother but that’s is.

I also guess that part of me was a little torn at the ending , it was moving , happy and at the same time it means i will miss John a lot but i can’t tell you more.

If you haven’t read this author yet, give this novella a try it will show you how well written this series is. If you love rugby romance and christma soen this is just your alley.

Mistletoe Magic ( Copper Mountain Christmas 3) by Melissa McClone

Hello to all,

2014 is reaching its end and globably it has been a good year i think, not perfect of course but i had worse^^. I'm also quite happy to have completed my goodreads challenge* ouf* then if all the gifts i had send had reached their receivers it would be better ( but it can still arrives today or tomorrow so let stay positive^^)

Today i will share with you a little, very short christmas romance that the author offered for free not long ago... i did like it but if i'm sharing this one first it's because it led me to a discovery....Mistletoe tradition.....

I know for each of you you have a perfectly built image in your head... i had one too but we often ignore that the same tradition can take a really different form not far from us. In this story, Mistletoes is linked to Christmas and kisses
I would have never linked Mistletoe and Christmas before... never! Here Mistletoe is for New Year ( New Year eve in some area)... We do kiss under it but it's to reinforce our wishes... you see so in my area it's 3 kisses one for happiness, one for health and the last one is left for personnalisation "lot of success" when you are studying for example  or no matter what  you know the person so for the third kisse you wish something that would be useful for him or her.

and not to make wait longer here is a sweet romance ! Mistletoe Magic

Happy Reading

Short description from goodreads :

Spending a quiet Christmas housesitting and reading novels about hot cowboys sounds perfect to Caitlin Butler. Until a stray kitten brings her face-to-face with Noah, her crush from college. Watching the handsome vet in action melts Caitlin's heart and brings back long forgotten emotions. She would be safer back at the house lost in the pages of a book. But a toe-curling mistletoe kiss tempts her to stay. Maybe she won't be spending this Christmas... alone.

Veterinarian Noah Sullivan isn't a Scrooge, but the Christmas Eve tradition of hanging mistletoe in the clinic's waiting room annoys him. Kissing doesn't belong at the Copper Mountain Animal Hospital. Noah rethinks his position when Caitlin arrives with a stray kitten she found freezing in the snow. All he wants now is to maneuver the pretty preschool teacher under the mistletoe. If he's not careful, he'll wind up on Santa's naughty list.

Mistletoe Magic is a short story companion to the Copper Mountain Christmas series.

My opinion:
It’s my first attempt at this author and I would not mind discovering her novel at all after enjoying this short Christmas novella!

This story is really short and it can bother some but as I wanted something that could be read quickly it was perfect and let me wishing for more. This story is a sweet romance with only  a few kissing so if you are looking for something spicy this is not the novella for you.

However if you want some Christmas feeling, magic and second chance this one should please you a lot.

I really enjoyed discovering the characters even if it was only shortly and it seemed to me a perfect reads for the season, yes I would have probably enjoyed to see more of the HEA but the way it was alluded, showed as a hope worked really well as well

Score:  4/5

So tell me Mistletoe: Christmas or New Year? any special tradition linked to it?

Now it's never to late for Christmas romance and of course you can read them all year along but i prefer them in winter when they are so heart warming....the time is diminishing fast before New Year so i have to read faster but i did want at least one magical moment so i picked one Christmas novella and i don't regret it all.

Happy reading!

Short description from goodreads :

In the blink of an eye; Josey lost the most important people in her life, her parents.

Can a hound dog named Cookie, a pair of Mourning Doves and a passionate vet bring the holiday spirit back into Josey's life in time for Christmas?

My opinion:
This is really a sweet Christmas novella and, if you love animals as I do, your heart will melt at some passage. If you love short story and novella and want to read one set at Christmas time including some humour, really determined birds, cute and loving dog as well as two humans destined for each other then you have to give this one a try.

Really it was a perfect read for the season and if I was a fan of novella I would have given a higher score sadly it’s not the case and thus it all felt a little rushed for me: meeting and first date the same day….a little too quick for me  now it’s part of the genre and it’s just their meeting ( they don’t jump on each other that quick thankfully or I wouldn’t have liked it at all) so I did like this story and I was smiling at the birds and i was so sad for Cookie’s past.

If you want some clean romance, animal humour and some Christmas magic do read Josey’s story it will leave you all heart warmed and smiling at any pet you encounter.
